£ódzkie voivodeship is known for being situated at the centre of Poland and Europe. It is a major academic centre as well as an intensively developing economic region backed by strong industrial traditions. Thanks to foreign investments, in recent years it has become Europe’s biggest household-appliance cluster. The £ód¼ region stands out for it high degree or urbanisation (64.8% of its inhabitants live in 42 towns). The main economic centre is the £ód¼ Metropolitan Area.

New Fujitsu service centre in £ód¼
On July 21st, 2009 an official opening of the new Fujitsu IT Service Centre took place in £ód¼. The ceremony was attended by Fujitsu representatives from Germany, the UK and Portugal where similar centres have already been operating and S³awomir Majman – President of the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency. The project results to be the biggest foreign investment in £ód¼ so far this year.

More projects, more investments, more new work places
Over 1.3 billion EUR has been invested in Poland, as a result of last year’s efforts from the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency (PAIiIZ) – it was stated at a conference which reviewed the PAIiIZ operations for 2007. The conference took place on Wednesday 30th January, in Warsaw.
