Poland is one of the largest glass producers in the world
According to the Association of Employers Polish Glass annually in more than 100 companies we produce about three million tons of glass. The majority of products coming from Polish factories are construction and packaging glass (bottles, jars, candles). The Polish “glassland” is the Podkarpacie region, where the industry has been developing since the 18th century. The rapid development of glassworks took place in the interwar period. At that time, the famous plant in Krosno was established (production was launched in 1924), slightly smaller production also in the nearby Jasło. In the times of the Polish People's Republic, they were united under the name of Krośnieńskie Huty Szkła Krosno. The products of this factory, mostly serial applied glass products, but also hand-decorated dishes and artistic works, have found recognition all over the world.
