Poland has officially begun cooperating with the organizers of EXPO 2020

Tomasz Pisula, the Commissioner General of the Polish Section at the World Exposition EXPO 2020, recently met with Reem Al-Hashimi, the State Minister of International Cooperation and managing director of the Exposition. In his visit to the UAE, the President of PAIH accompanied Deputy Prime Minister Piotr Gliński, who presented the head of the Exhibition with a letter from Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki confirming Poland’s participation in the event.

EXPO 2020 is the first World Exhibition to be held in the MEASA region, which covers the areas of the Middle East, Africa and South Asia. The United Arab Emirates have maintained their position as Poland’s largest economic and trading partner in the Arab world for nearly a decade. Since 2013, bilateral trade between Poland and the UAE has grown to total approximately USD 1 billion a year. The World Exhibition in Dubai is an excellent opportunity to strengthen relationships with a young, dynamically developing state that is of great importance to companies seeking to expand internationally, given its role as a gateway to the MEASA region.

"We view our participation in EXPO Dubai 2020 as an opportunity for us to engage in an extremely intensive economic promotion of Polish companies and to strengthen Poland’s cooperation with the United Arab Emirates as well as the entire Middle East region. The axis of our political and diplomatic activities in the region will be centered on the organization of the National Day," Tomasz Pisula speaking in Dubai. As explained by the President of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency, Poland’s participation in EXPO 2020, similarly to previous World Exhibitions - has taken a multidimensional approach. Poland’s national exhibit will be accompanied by a dedicated business program engaging Polish entrepreneurs prior to, during and after the event.

The head of PAIH also invited companies from the UAE to cooperate with Polish businesses. He announced that the Agency is implementing a program for the promotion of Polish "Brand" industries by organizing national stands at key trade fairs around the world. "A total of 10 of them are located in Dubai. We support and will continue to support here domestic manufacturers of medical equipment, health services, cosmetics, IT / ICT, yachts and boats, and furniture. This is a unique opportunity for us to learn about the potential of our enterprises and to establish long-term contacts," Pisula stressed. He added that the PAIH trade office in Dubai offers comprehensive service for both Polish and Emirati companies, having already responded to almost 200 inquiries. The meeting, which took place on April 25th, was also attended by the Polish Ambassador to the UAE, Robert Rostek.
