A simple and much-needed prescription for the Podkarpackie voivodship

A prescription for harder times in the Podkarpackie voivodeship is to develop its potentials, both locally and human wise, strengthen the cooperation between businesses, science and education, creating better conditions for business activity, as well as effectively promote the region.

Such were the conclusions of the seminar Podkarpackie voivodeship - a strong brand. Potential, investment and development and the turmoil in the European economy, which took place on November 17 at the Hotel Ambasadorski in Rzeszów.

The meeting was attended by representatives of local governments, entrepreneurs from Podkarpackie and other regions as well as business institutions and business associations, financial institutions, consulting firms, NGOs and members of the academia. Their common goal was to exchange ideas, experiences and observations about the future of the region in light of the turmoil in the European economy.

The panelists stressed that of utmost importance for the region was, and still is, to co-finance projects from EU funds. Will this still apply in the future? Not necessarily. In the next budgeting period starting in 2014, less money will be allocated and it will be given primarily to indirectly support business activity. A greater emphasis will be placed on innovation and less on equalising opportunities between regions.

The conference was held as part of the “Prospects in Poland” cycle under the patronage of PAIiIZ. For more information, please call: Bluevine Consulting, Aneta Kłodaś - 509 332 606 or www.prospectsinpoland.com (Bluevine Consulting)
