What is the way to accelerate the realisation of the transport infrastructure creation programme?
"Undoubtedly the present condition of the Polish infrastructure hampers the pace of development. I believe that the situation may be improved, yet optimism certainly is an indispensable factor that may help overcome not only legislative but also organisational defects. I think the report prepared by the American Chamber of Commerce in Poland, on the condition of the Polish transport infrastructure, provides valuable food for thought."

Daewoo invests in Strzelce Opolskie
One, from among three new Daewoo plants, is to be constructed in Strzelce Opolskie. Another two are planned to be set up in India and Mexico. In Poland the South-Korean investor is about to invest 50 million PLN.

Telecordia opens in Poznań
Telcordia Technologies Inc, announced the opening of a Technology Research Centre in Poznań. The American company, in collaboration with the three most important Poznań universities, created a new university course concerning technological applications of the Internet. The idea behind the new programme is to create a local talent pool of highly qualified cadre. The first recruitment process is due to begin in the academic year 2009/2010..

Competition for the best Master thesis, regarding the promotion of the Polish economy

French concern FM Logistic is to build a logistic base in the Ujazd Business Activity Zone (SAG). The foundation stone lying ceremony, in the presence of the concern’s and local self-government representatives, took place on June 19.

President signed an amendment to the Act on SEZ
On June 19, President Lech Kaczyński signed an amendment to the Act on Special Economic Zone (SSE) – PAP informs. New regulations come into force 30 days after the Act has been announced.

Fish-processing plant in Koszalin to expand its activity
Royal Greenland Seafood, the biggest and most modern fish-processing plant in Europe, has been operating in Koszalin for some time now. Thanks to the investment 250 workplaces had been created and the ultimate staff number at the plant is to reach 700.
