Intellectual Property Protection in Poland

Poland boasts a long-standing tradition in protecting intellectual property, including copyrights and industrial property rights. The key regulations in this area include the Act on Copyrights and Neighboring Rights Act of 1994 and the Industrial Property Law of 2000. Salans’ Intellectual Property Team has compiled a concise information brochure providing an essential overview of the current legal situation that will help you get a clear picture of the regulations in place. You are kindly invited to benefit from this publication.

Salans is an international law firm which has been providing full-range law and tax services in Poland since 1991. Our Intellectual Property Group has extensive experience in IP transactions, including preparing and negotiating licensing, assignment and other IP rights agreements as well as structuring transactions for the transfer or encumbrance of rights. The Group performs intellectual property due diligences and routinely represents companies in disputes over intellectual property rights and violation of fair competition prior to trial as well as in litigation before common courts and arbitral tribunals and in mediation proceedings.

Salans has received many prestigious awards and recommendations over the years. One recent major success was the Chambers Europe Award for Excellence 2011 - International Law Firm of the Year in Poland, which reflects the firm’s outstanding achievements and commitment.
