How was the Park created?
On the 29th of June 2006 under an agreement based on the act of deed the city of Piekary Śląskie, Orzeł Biały Partnership (PLC), Department of Public Utilities in Piekary Śląskie and Silesian Agency for Enterprises Restructuring in Katowice merged their forces and The Piekary Śląskie Industrial Park was created.
On the 31th of July 2008, in relation with spreading range of commercial activity especially in rational waste management sector the shareholders’ meeting adopted a resolution under which the company name has been changed on: Piekary Śląskie Industrial and Technology Park “EkoPark” Ltd.
EkoPark’s Profile
The Mission of the Industrial and Technological Park - EkoPark in the city of Piekary Śląskie is the creation of an environmental technologies implementation Centre for post-industrial terrain (brownfields) revitalization and recycling support (segregation, processing and storage of waste).
The main objective of the project is to restore the commercial value to the degraded post-industrial sites, what will contribute to the economic development of the region by providing conditions for the entrepreneurs to start investments and to assist in business implementation.

promotion of industrial development based on the use of new innovative technology by supporting the transfer of knowledge and technology between scientific bodies and entrepreneurs.
The Location
Piekary Śląskie is a city located in the South-Western Poland, belonging to the Silesian Voivodeship. The city is an important part of the Upper Silesian Industrial District. Strategic location makes the city an attractive place to invest in. Areas covered by the project ”Piekary Ślaskie Industrial and Technology Park – EkoPark” are situated in vicinity of the City of Bytom border and covers a surface of 120 ha. These areas are located in a strategic point in the communication of the Silesian agglomeration – are in close to existing national and voivodeship roads’ nodes. Along the southern boundary of the EkoPark passes the Harcerska street, which serve as the international road E40, national road No 4 and 94. Just 3 km from the EkoPark’s terrain the A1 motorway course is planned, which will be a follow-up to the international road E75 commencing in Northern Norway and leading through Finland, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Serbia, Macedonia, Greece. In Poland, the motorway will connect the Baltic sea ports with Upper Silesia, what is an additional opportunity for investors. What’s more, the EkoPark’s area is smoothly connected through a network of local roads with the existing A4 motorway, passing just about 8 km from the EkoPark, as well as with the International Airport Katowice-Pyrzowice (distance approx.18 km). On the Town Council initiative local road infrastructure was improved. It is also possible to develop a railway siding, being an alternative to road transport.
