Randstad survey - the conservative optimism of Polish employers
“Polish employers turned out to be conservative and optimistic at the same time” - said PAIiIZ president Sławomir Majman during the conference presenting the results of Randstad’s a periodic survey. The meeting took place on 8 December in PAIiIZ.

Forecasted companies’ employment policy hasn’t significantly changed since the last quarter. Employers are slightly less willing to create new jobs (26% of them plan to increase employment). In contrary, their attention is now focused on maintaining and protecting staff against the effects of competition. Moreover, they seem to be more open to increase salaries of their employees (25% of respondents). It is a visible change, because during the past three quarters such declaration was made by 20% of them.

As it was pointed by director of admin & legal affairs in Randstad, Agnieszka Bulik, creation of additional jobs is announced mainly by companies employing from 10 to 49 people. “Those are the smallest companies participating in the survey. Previously, they were much more sparing in terms of new job creation”, argued Ms Bulik, adding that the second big group of employers who are to employ new staff, are companies based on foreign capital. “Nearly half of them will increase employment”, said Ms Bulik.

Surveyed entrepreneurs report the lack of technicians and skilled workers, engineers and masters and foremen in their local markets. However, according to PAIiIZ observation this situation may soon be changed. “There is a growing deficit of so called "blue collars". Nowadays, young people choose technical faculties more likely. Instead of following the most popular faculties they fallow real opportunities in the labor market”, argues president Majman.
