- In times of economic crisis, Angola has become an important market, also for Poland - said Anna Polak - Kocińska, Member of the Board of PAIiIZ, opening the meeting. Angola, in the years 2002-2010 recorded the highest GDP growth in the world - more than 11%.

The purpose of the meeting was to present the investment opportunities in Poland. The representatives of Polish companies have also an opportunity to present their offer to Angolan side. Some of them have already had first successes on the Angolan market. Navimor International is a company from Sopot which is construction contractor of Academy of Fishery and Ocean Sciences in Namibe. One of the panels was devoted to economic cooperation between Slovakia and Poland towards economic slowdown in Europe. Both Polish and Slovak participants stressed that in recent years, it goes very well. As evidence the numbers concerning trade between the two countries were cited.

- Over the last ten years, trade has increased by 300 percent - said Robert ©imončič, Managing Director of the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency. - However it is still not reflected in a clear increase of mutual direct investment. Polish share of foreign investment in Slovakia amounts only 0.19%, while in the case of Hungary and the Czech Republic it is 6% each. - proclaimed ©imončič. He added that Poland and Slovakia should focus joint efforts especially in the IT industry. - Both countries are already quite strong in this sector and have a strong potential for global expansion - stated ©imončič.

However, to make this possible, Warsaw and Bratislava have to think more about cooperation than competition. Such a position presented Vice President of the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency Anna Polak-Kocińska: - I have the impression that it is still too much competing with each other. Meanwhile, in many areas the cooperation would give better results. Especially in the distant markets, we need to work together to promote Central Europe. - She gave the example the Nordic countries, which are able to jointly solicit foreign partners.

Slovakia-Poland Economic Forum in Bratislava was the first meeting in the framework of EEC Roadshow 2013 - series of economic conferences in the Visegrad countries.

ANALYSES AND REPORTS

The results of the 17th survey conducted by Randstad Research Institute and TNS Poland
Most dismissals in production and sales. IT staff, HR and marketing can sleep better. The results of the recent survey were presented today in PAIiIZ.

According to the recent Employers Plans survey conducted by the Randstad Research Institute and TNS in the last few months more companies decreased than increased employment. Individual employees or small groups have been dismissed mostly, mainly in production, sales, administration and customer service. Redundancy occurred in nearly every third company (30%), while the fourth of them has increased (25%). The increase in employment rate was significantly noticeable in companies employing more than 250 employees (36%). In terms of regions, the most difficult situation was in the east and central Poland - in these areas reduction in number of employees affected more than every three companies (35% and 36%).

In next six months, entrepreneurs are more likely, than in the previous quarter, to assume that we will depart from the recession, but the market is still in stagnation. Nearly 3 out of 4 companies are already feeling the impact of the economic slowdown in their current operations and trying to improve by increasing the efficiency and flexibility of employment.

In the next six months increase in employment can be expected in less than one in five surveyed companies (19%). Fewer companies plans to reduce employment (15%). As in previous months, these activities will be affecting more significantly smaller companies employing 10 to 49 employees (22%).
