THE GOLDEN SITE CONTEST 2016

Communities fight for investors - Grunt na Medal/Golden Site Contest
7th “Grunt na Medal Contest” for the best investment plots in Poland has just started. The competition is addressed to every community in Poland that is looking for new investors. The contest is worth a challenge. According to PAIiIZ data, over half of the recent winners have already attracted significant investment projects. Among them there is Września in Wielkopolska province that won one if the biggest global player, Volkswagen and the project worth €800m.

Once every two years, Grunt na Medal/Golden Site Contest contest is arranged by PAIiIZ together with the Marshall Offices of sixteen Polish provinces and Investor Service Centres (COI) under the patronage of the Polish government. The contest has been designed to select sixteen best greenfield plots in Poland - one per every 16 provinces. The investment should be prepared for industrial issues and cover at least 2 hectares of ground.

Every community can and should take a part in the contest by submitting not one, but few plots that are located within the community - no matter who owns the ground. However, the submitted plot cannot be located in any Polish Special Economic Zone or operate within any Technology Park.

“Grunt na Medal/Golden Site Contest” contest is really worth a challenge. Every community invited to the final stage of the contest can be sure that it offers good quality investment plots and a first class service for investors. Moreover, winning the contest significantly increases the chance to win an investment contract. Since 2005, 52 out of 96 recent winners of the contest  have welcomed new investors.

“This is not medals that we play for. It’s gaining the investor’s interest that is the best award in Grunt na Medal”, argues Michał Dąbrowski, PAIiIZ Member of the Board. “We hope, that in the end, this is the investors that will fight among each other for the top Polish plots selected in the contest, he adds.

The contest has stared on 29 April. By 20 May, every Polish community is invited to register and submit the application. Then the plots will be assessed, selected, and those that will enter to the short list will be visited and examined during a special study visit of experts. The list of winners of 7th Grunt na Medal/Golden Site Contest will be published in Autumn 2016.
