Chinese bank officials discuss Polish potential
China Development Bank delegation has visited Poland at the invitation of PIiIZ and the Embassy of China. The visit started on September 23rd with a workshop at PAIiIZ.

On September 25th the officials of China Development Bank took part in a discussion panels with the representatives of Polish government, National Bank, Office of Electronic Communication (UKE) and PSA. The aim of the visit is to identify investment prospects in the Polish - Chinese relations in power industry and telecommunication. All matters are discussed on a separate meetings dedicated to each topic.

The visitors from China also take part in macroeconomic panel that refers to consequences of a new stage of privatization process. This topic will be presented by the representatives of the Ministry of Treasure and the National Bank of Poland experts.

Meetings with the CDB delegation are organized by PAIiIZ.

Malesia intrested in Poland
From September 23rd to 25th the representatives of Invest Penang were in Poland. The main purpose of their visit was to exchange experience between the agencies of investment and promotion.

Guests attended the meetings with Employers of Poland and PAIiIZ’s representatives. On September 24th both sides presented the investment potential and business opportunities of their countries. The event helped to develop the opportunity of bilateral economic cooperation between Poland and Malesia.

Chinese delegation from Taizhou
- Poland has a very important economic factor - financial and political stability - agreed the representatives of the Taizhou Municipal People’s Government. The meeting took place at PAIiIZ on September 24th.

- The role of special economic zones, central location of Poland in Europe and well educated, young staff make our country an attractive place to invest - said Maciej Górski PAIiIZ advisor.

Guests represented the local authorities of the City of Taizhou, which is located in Zhejiang province. Taizhou is famous from well developed automotive, pharmaceutical and chemical sectors.

Select USA
American and Polish entrepreneurs, representatives of Select and PAIiIZ agencies attended in seminar about business activity on American market. The meeting took place at PAIiIZ on September 24th.

Issues related with business incentives, tax, legal and visa programmes as well was immigration procedures were discussed during the meeting. The conference was a big success. 65 representatives of Polish business who attended the conference also participated in a special investment workshops. According to NBP data cumulative value of Polish investments in USA is 1.6 billion euro.

Round Table for the pharmaceutical sector
Polish pharmaceutical market is 6th in Europe and 14th in the world. It creates large growth opportunities for development of generic drugs.

Poland is not only an interesting market for companies from the sector but also gives the opportunity to export products to neighbouring countries. - Cooperation of pharmaceutical industry with science in Poland is highly praised as one of the best in Europe. There is a chance that until 2030 Poland will become an European leader in generic drugs production - said Iwona Chojnowska - Haponik, director of PAIiIZ Foreign Investment Department during the Round Table for the pharmaceutical sector that took place on the September 24th in the InterContinental hotel in Warsaw.

PAIiIZ, PARP and Częstochowa
Two main topics: support in investments promotion, economic development and fight against unemployment were disused during the meeting with the authorities of the city of Częstochowa. The event was organized by PAIiIZ and PARP.

On September 9th, in Czestochowa Industrial Park, PAIiIZ and PARP representatives met with city’s authorities and members of organizations supporting local business.

The main topic of a meeting was a presentation of investment potential of Częstochowa area as well as local enterprise development and creation of new workingplaces.

Częstochowa is considered as one of the most important industry centers in Poland and highly estimated academic center. Since many years the city has been also one of the Polish leader of investment attractiveness. (PAIiIZ)

Turkish media make programme about Poland
At the invitation of PAIiIZ, the representatives of Turkish economic media have arrived to Poland. The main purpose of the study visit is to present the potential of Polish agri - food sector. Journalists also visited the biggest food expo in Poland - PolAgra which took place from 23rd to 26th September in Poznań.

On September 23th Turkish journalist from TRT radio and tv as weel as of Dunya newspaper met president of PAIiIZ Sławomir Majman; next day they visited the prestigious food expo PolAgra. During the event the delegation form Turkey tasted dishes made form Polish beef and watched the exposition “tastes of the region” presenting Polish regional food specialties.

After the visit the tv programme about high quality Polish beef is planned to be aired in Turkish television.

Good climate for Russian investments
During the Polish-Russia Economic Forum PAIiIZ and Klub Wschodni honored Luxoft with the special economic award.

Luxoft is an international company with Russian origins. It is also one of the leaders of ITO sector in CEE. Currently the company employs 340 highly qualified programmers in IT centers in Krakow and Wroclaw. Until the end of 2015 Luxoft plans to extend the number of employees to 750.

Polish - Russian Economic Forum was organized by Polish-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, East Club, PAIiIZ and Pomorska Special Economic Zone together with the Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Transport, Construction and Maritime Economy and the Embassy of Russian Federation. The event was inaugurated by Sławomir Nowak - Minister of Transport, Ekaterina Belyakowa - Commercial Representatives of Russian Federation in Poland and Mr Ryszard Świlski - member of Pomorskie Regional Board.

Members of WAIPA in Poland
From 15th to 20th September, PAIiIZ organized a study visit for WAIPA members. WAIPA is an organization which associates foreign investment agencies from all over the world.

The main purpose of the visit was the exchange of experience between national investment agencies, introduction to investment incentives system and presentation of technology parks in Poland. The programme of the study tour also included meeting at the Ministry of Economy, Pomorska Special Economic Zone and the attendance in the conference about services sector which is organized by PAIiIZ.

INVESTMENTS IN POLAND

CHEMTEX Investment
CHEMTEX Ltd, the company with Polish capital, received a permit to operate in Starachowice Special Economic Zone.

The company will build a factory producing special paints for industry, hygienic food and pharmaceutical industry and also water-based coatings, adhesives and paint intermediates as basis and “verschnitty” - for printing sector. The company will create 10 new workplaces and will maintain the level of employment - at least 17 employees - until December 31st 2018.

This is the fourth permit in Starachowicce SEZ in 2013. (SSE Starchowice)

German investor in Kamienna Góra SEZ
Kamienna Góra SEZ issued a business permission in Jelenia Góra economic subzone.

The German company Furstenberg Holz will build the factory, employ at least 55 workers and maintain the level of employment until 2020. The value of the first phase of investment (modern warehouse and the organisation of production) is 15 million PLN.

The company specializes in production of wooden industrial packaging for automotive and construction of machinery and equipment sectors. (Mo-Ja Multimedia)

3 thousand Polish tractors in Ethiopia
Polish company Ursus signed the agreement with Ethiopian Metals and Engineering Corporation (METEC) of Agricultural Machinery Industry (AAMI) with headquarter in Adama (Oromia, Ethiopia) for the delivery of 3 thousand tractors. The value of the contract is 90 million USD. The project will be implement in two years time after its’ signing.

This contract will be the first, very important step towards the acquisition of new market in this promising region by Ursus.

Ursus will also provide the equipment of service centers and spare parts to the sold tractors. Moreover, the company will conduct a training of the recipient’s crew and a technical support. Both sides plan to cooperate in machine and agricultural machinery branches. (URSUS)

Polish rail vehicles are entering the German tracks
During the TRAKO International Railway Fairs, PESA Bydgoszcz signed the contract with NEB (Niederbarniemer Eisenbahn) for supplying new gas powered units - LINK.

Vehicles will be used on Berlin - Templin and Berlin - Kostrzyn Wielkopolski line. Modern DMU LINK offers 140 seats, places for wheelchairs and strollers and 12 places for bikes.

PESA has already been active in German market owing to cooperation with a private carrier Netinera and Deutshe Bahn, German national railways. (PESA)

Medical tourism
"Who is cured in Poland? Do Polish medical centers have a chance to attract foreign patients?" - those issues will be raised during the summary meeting in the middle of realization of the "Promotion of medical tourism sector" programme.

The meeting will take place on October 3rd at the PAIiIZ Information Centre (ul. Bagatela 12). Representatives of medical tourism branch that attend in the event: Ms Liza Zatterberg from CE Travel AB from Sweden and Ms Julie Conner, certified medical tourism specialist from GLOBAL Tourism Facilitators from USA. The foreign guests will present their opinions about Polish medical centers and their chances to compete on a international medical tourism markets.

TOOLEX 2013
EXPO SILESIA in Sosnowiec invites from 1st to 3rd October 2013 for the biggest event in Autumn season dedicated to metalworking sector - the 6th International Fair of Machine Tools, Tools and Processing Technology TOOLEX. PAIiIZ took the patronage over this event.

TOOLEX gives an opportunity for a full overview of company offers all over the world. Last year edition in numbers: 295 exhibitors, more than 350 companies from 25 countries, 6857 m2 stand area, 207 machines in motion, almost 8 000 visitors, 7035 registered specialist included.

During the Fairs the WIRTOTECHNOLOGIA Saloon will take place. The event is organized for branches which deal with methods and tools to virtualization of processes. (TOOLEX 2013)

B2B Meetings
PARP invites for B2B meetings with British companies, which will take place on October 10th in Warsaw.

The meeting is dedicated to companies from environment protection, construction and logistics sectors. Due to limited number of possible meetings the order of application is crucial. For the same reason and due to a professional nature of meetings, companies that are close to presented sectors have the highest priority in booking.

English is the official language of meetings. For participants that are not familiar with this language organizers prepared a translation. The attendance is free of charge. The amount of foreign tourists in Poland is increasing
According to the data from Institute of Tourism and Active Group, the number of foreign tourists in Poland in 2012 has been estimated for about 14.8 million. It is 11% more than in 2011. Tourism sector generated 6% of Polish GDP in 2012 which has been the highest rate since 2007.

The biggest groups of tourists came from: Germany (32.4%), Ukraine (13.5), Belarus (10.8%), Russia (4.5), Lithuania (4.1%) and Great Britain (3.3%). Analysis points out that „the Barcelona effect” has been stronger than it the expected one. The number of foreigners visiting Poland will be increasing in the next few years. Thanks to positive opinions of foreign guests and media, Polish image improved significantly. Poland noticed the biggest growth of country’s brand value among 100 surveyed countries. (MSiT)
