The return of the PAIH office to Kyiv and a series of meetings with Ministers

The PAIH Foreign Trade Office in Kiev resumes its stationary operations in Ukraine. Due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the Kiev office, carried out it operation from Warsaw. The reopening of the office was attended by Jadwiga Emilewicz, Deputy Minister of Funds and Regional Policy and Government Plenipotentiary for development of cooperation between Poland and Ukraine. Micha³ Dworczyk, Minister in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister and the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Kiev Bartosz Cichocki were also present. The Ukrainian side was represented by Deputy Ministers of Infrastructure Oleksandra Azarchina and Mustafa Nayyem. The opening ceremony was led by Karol Kubica, head of PAIH’s Foreign Trade Office (ZBH) in Kiev.

The guests were welcomed by PAIH’s Board Member Grzegorz Oszast, who encouraged companies to contact the Agency, which actively supports the building of business relations between Poland and Ukraine. He stressed that PAIH treats the Kiev office as a priority. It is open to assist both Polish companies wishing to increase their presence in Ukraine, as well as Ukrainian companies looking for Polish business partners.

We encourage companies from both Poland and Ukraine to turn to the Kiev Office as a point that will provide comprehensive assistance in business contacts. The team operating in Kiev will be strengthened to meet the huge interest in establishing economic relations that we are currently observing - said Grzegorz Oszast.

Minister Jadwiga Emilewicz spoke about good economic cooperation between Poland and Ukraine, thanks to which, it is possible to remove further obstacles in cooperation within a few days. At the same time, she encouraged companies to make the PAIH office in Kiev a point to which they would turn to when they want to operate in Ukraine.

Minister Dworczyk stressed that today's meeting in the reopened PAIH headquarters is possible thanks to the heroic defence of Ukraine. He also added that Poland recognizes the efforts of the Ukrainian authorities to modernize their economy and the ongoing reconstruction of their infrastructure.

The Ministry of Reconstruction of Ukraine was represented by Deputy Ministers Oleksandra Azarchina and Mustafa Nayyem. Minister Azarchina emphasized that victory requires financing, and this comes from the budget, which in turn depends on the state of the economy. The Ukrainian authorities want it to operate efficiently and for Ukrainian and Polish business to cooperate effectively. Deputy Minister Nayyem spoke about openness to the presence of Polish business in Ukraine and the need to further improve cooperation.

Ministers Emilewicz and Dworczyk, together with Grzegorz Oszast, also took part in a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk, with whom they discussed increasing the protection of Polish investments in Ukraine. During their visit to Kiev, Jadwiga Emilewicz and Grzegorz Oszast met with Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov and Ministers Azarchina and Nayyem. These talks allowed to identify the most urgent areas requiring improvement and the obstacles in current business contacts reported by entrepreneurs. The Ukrainian side received with interest the information about the number of Polish companies wanting to participate in the post-war reconstruction of the country and about the work on the White Paper identifying the most important and common problems in business relations between entrepreneurs from Poland and Ukraine.
