The Polish-Arab Economic Forum

Expo 2020 will last until March, but December is the most important moment of Poland’s presence at the World Exhibition in Dubai. On December 6, the Polish-Arab Economic Forum was held. On December 7, the Polish Day took place. The Polish Investment and Trade Agency is responsible for the organization of the Forum and Poland's participation in Expo 2020 Dubai

The Polish-Arab Economic Forum

The Polish-Arab Economic Forum was attended by Polish entrepreneurs and high-ranking government officials from both Poland and the United Arab Emirates, among them Grzegorz Piechowiak, Secretary of State in the Ministry of Development and Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade. The forum became a platform for presenting the export potential of Polish goods and services, at the same time giving Polish entrepreneurs a chance to establish direct relations with economic partners from the region.

The Polish-Arab Economic Forum is part of a comprehensive economic program that we have prepared for Expo 2020 Dubai in consultation with partners and institutions. Our goal is to promote Polish products and services on new markets in the Middle East. We are convinced that cooperation with potential investors from the Persian Gulf countries is not just possible, but necessary in a dynamically changing reality. The presentation of export offers in the field of the digital economy, Polish design and food security as well as offers presenting our country as an attractive place to invest will help in achieving success - said Krzysztof Drynda, Chairman of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency.

Poland is consciously using the potential resulting from participation in the World Exhibition. Opening up to new markets in Arab and African countries is both a great challenge and an opportunity for the Polish economy, especially now that the pandemic has forced a revision of existing economic patterns. The presence of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency in many countries of the region is a great help for Polish entrepreneurs who want to conduct export activities. PAIH is a natural partner for those companies that are looking for reliable distribution channels or are thinking about setting up a business abroad.

The Polish-Arab Economic Forum was both a place to exchange experiences and insights during numerous expert panels, during which topics relevant to the Polish and Arab economies were discussed. Mutual exchange and openness to economic needs is an important element of starting the intensification of business cooperation. An equally important element of the Forum was the opportunity to establish new business contacts for the participants in the event.

The grand finale of the Polish-Arab Economic Forum was the signing of bilateral agreements, opening up a new chapter in business relations and strengthening ties between Poland and the UAE. The contracts signed include: an agreement between the Polish Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FCCI), an agreement between Etihad Credit Insurance (ECI) and KUKE, and finally an agreement between DMCC (Dubai Multi Commodities Centre) and the Polish Investment and Trade Agency represented by Grzegorz S³omkowski, a member of the board.
