Grenton’s Smart Home is a solution designed for comprehensive automatic management of home functions. The intelligent home automation, can control among other things, home heating, lighting, ventilation and air conditioning, garage doors and even multimedia. The company began operating 9 years ago in Krakow. Currently, it employs almost 50 people and has over 500 dealers and distributors throughout Poland. The innovative technology of the Krakow company has been noted in many industry competitions. Recently, Grenton won the prestigious Deloitte 2020 Technology Fast 50 competition and thus found itself among the fastest growing technology companies in Central Europe.

Usually, making a decision to expand abroad is preceded by many years of activity on the domestic market. It is important to develop a positive opinion among customers and contractors, maintain a high level of after-sales support and improve product with innovative solutions, especially when it comes to companies from the IT and IoT industries. Having an established position on the domestic market, in 2018 we decided to start selling abroad. The Polish Investment and Trade Agency helped us open the doors to international markets - explains Natalia Zimny from Grenton.

After creating their first export team, Grenton started working from scratch, on analysis of foreign markets, searching for potential partners and preparing technical presentations. In 2018, the company participated in the Gitex fair in the United Arab Emirates. However, additional on-site support and knowledge of the local language proved necessary. There was a need for local support, which PAIH’s foreign trade office in Dubai provided for Grenton.

Our joint activities led to the signing of the first contract in December 2018 and the start of official cooperation in 2019. Within two years, Grenton signed distribution contracts in such countries as Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Ghana, Nigeria, Hungary, Serbia, Albania, Romania and in November 2020 in Italy.

The attractiveness of the product, a well-thought-out strategy and consistency in action are Greton’s distinguishing features. PAIH helped the company find its feet on the Arab markets as well as in Hungary. Thanks to PAIH, the company participated in international fairs. The agency also organized several training sessions for the management of Grenton and also developed a database of potential distributors. We helped with talks with partners on the spot. The demand for smart home solutions is growing. We expect the industry to develop significantly in 2021, when economic restrictions resulting from the pandemic will be gradually lifted and customers will turn even more to new technology. This is a chance for Grenton to conquer new markets - says Katarzyna Jedlińska, PAIH’s press spokesman.

A very good level of technological expertise as well as determination in business activities, combined with the professional help of the Agency, allowed for the introduction of high-quality Polish technological solutions to international markets. Currently, the company is developing its position in 17 countries in the EMEA area. With PAIH’s support, the company is in the process of exporting to the Turkish market.
