1st Kenya - Poland Health Summit

The event will take place on Thursday, 20th March 2018 at the Windsor Country & Golf Club, Nairobi where the participants will have an opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions during the conference and establish valuable connections.

 

The conference will comprise two parts - a regulatory part, where government experts both from Poland and Kenya will exchange experience on the ICT transformation in healthcare and a business part, where key shareholders of the industry from both countries will share their experiences of ICT use in their businesses. 

 

e-Health is a top priority for the current Kenyan government and a personal priority for the newly elected Kenyan president. There is already a very friendly business environment for the development of various e-health initiatives, like telemedicine, electronic medical records, hospital information systems etc. However, the operationalisation and implementation of already existing policies and available technologies is always a challenge, as in many other countries in the world.

In this light, Poland, who is undergoing a digital transformation in healthcare and faces many similar challenges can be an interesting partner for Kenya – not only on the government level to exchange regulatory experience, but also on a medical and business level to establish valuable business links and scientific cooperation between the countries.

From the regulatory perspective especially interesting can be the following topics: e-health regulations and strategy, regional platforms, e-prescription, e-referral, the use of the public cloud, GDPR  (EU General Data Protection Regulation). We aim at exchanging the strategies, best practices, success and failure stories between the regulators from both countries.

 

From the business and medical standpoint we see the huge potential to utilize polish technologies and experience in many e-health initiatives in Kenya. We believe that Polish and Kenyan entrepreneurs will encounter a very fertile ground for collaboration in the implementation of their innovative e-health solutions. Through this proposed conference, we would like to engage both sides to help them establish valuable links between each other that would lead to many successful common ventures.
