„We received a mandate from the Polish government to support the export offensive of Polish entrepreneurs” said PAIH Executive Vice President, Wojciech Fedko. As he explained, Polish government and institutions affiliated to the Polish Development Fund would like to diversify foreign target markets for Polish trade and investment. The aim is to reduce the share of exports to the European Union from a current level of 80% and direct it to other markets. “In order to play a greater role in global markets, Poland needs partners in non-European markets, especially in the Atlantic region. Mexico is an excellent base for Polish business”, Mr Fedko said.

Polish development institutions: BGK Bank, PAIH and Trade and Export Credit Insurance Corporation will play a strategic role in the process of opening the Mexican market for products, services and investments from Poland. The attractiveness of this state is slowly being discovered by the Polish companies. Trade between the two countries is growing and should exceed $1bn, this year.

However, still the potential of mutual business relations with Mexico remains largely untapped, especially in the investment area. “That situation justified the opening of the PAIH Foreign Trade Office in Mexico City in the first phase of our foreign activity”, Wojciech Fedko explained. The office was opened in April, during the economic mission of the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda to Mexico. (PAIH / BGK)
