Business potential of Azerbaijan

"The potential in economic relations between Poland and Azerbaijan is still waiting to be explore," said President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, opening the Polish-Azerbaijani Business Forum that was arranged jointly by PAIH and its Azerbaijani counterpart AZPROMO as well as by the Polish Ministry of Economic Development. The Forum was held on 27 June, on the occasion of the official visit in Poland of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev and entrepreneurs from this country.

“Azerbaijan and Poland can play an important role in the revitalization of the New Silk Road”, said president of Poland Andrzej Duda.  “In the Caspian region, Poland has gained a credible partner. A partner who respects and appreciates Poland, "declared Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. He also claimed that in Azerbaijan, Poland has a high status. “It is perceived as a globally important country with great economic potential”.

"An important goal of Polish economic diplomacy is to seek new markets for our entrepreneurs. Azerbaijan is a prospective place for Polish products, services and investments", President Duda argued. The President noted that both countries could work together in the infrastructure, transport, energy, but also in the high technology including IT. "There are new opportunities for cooperation in the agri-food sector, the construction industry, as well as in pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries," the President added. On the other hand, Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Tadeusz Kościński added that innovative technologies made in Poland could be used in the development of the Azerbaijani economy. Soon, the Polish business will receive additional support in Azerbaijan. According to PAIH member of the Board, Wojciech Fedko, the Agency is planning to set its foreign office in Baku at  the turn of 2018/19. (PAIH)
