We are developing cooperation with Ethiopia

"We need to change the structure of exports so that Polish companies could be more present in African and Asian markets," said PAIH Executive Vice President Krzysztof Senger at the opening of the Polish-Ethiopian Economic Forum.
The forum was held on 8 May in Addis Ababa, as a part of the economic mission organised by the Polish Investment and Trade Agency on the occasion of the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda official visit to Ethiopia.

During the forum, the representatives of Polish and Ethiopian governmental administration discussed the possibilities of trade and investment in Ethiopia, the role of the Ethiopian private sector and investment opportunities in Poland. "The companies that participate in the visit are already present in the African markets. Thanks to such events as today, we should have more bilateral business projects", said Senger. President Duda expressed his hope for the development of Polish business in Ethiopia. "I would like the Polish business to contribute to the development of Ethiopia, having financial benefits. I hope the Polish brands will become known here", the President said.

Earlier, the President visited the factory of Ursus, the Polish tractor manufacturer, in Adama. The President noted that Ursus's contract with Ethiopia was possible through the agreement signed by both governments in 2013. “This cooperation is a part of the Polish governmental “GoAfrica” programme for Polish business. I would like Polish entrepreneurs and companies to get interested in the African market within this programme, because those are the countries with a huge potential", said the President.

On the last day of his visit to Ethiopia, President Duda will be lobbying the African Union for the support of its members for Poland's candidature for a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council in 2018-2019. (PAIH)
