Botswana - African diamond

"For Poland, Botswana is interesting partner for cooperation in the mining sector, as Polish technologies can be used both for diamond extraction and for exploration of large disposal of unused coal", said Krzysztof Senger, executive vice-president of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency. On 27 March the Poland-Botswana economic seminar was held at the Agency's seat in Warsaw.

"Botswana is one of the African diamonds," said Botswana Ambassador H.E. Lameck Nthekel. "It's a democratic, safe country. Ideal place for the companies that want to launch business in the whole region”, said the Ambassador.

The seminar, devoted to trading and investment opportunities in Botswana, was organised during the visit of the representatives of the Botswana Investment and Trade Center (BITC) in Poland. The meeting included presentations on Botswana's economic potential and support programmes for Polish exporters and investors. After the official part, the B2B talks were held.

Botswana records the highest GDP growth per person in the world. Spectacular development is the result of the economic reforms and diamond extraction, which Botswana is one of the world's largest producers. (PAIH)
