Automotive industry

Poland is a leading CCE market for passenger and commercial vehicles manufacturers and suppliers. An outstanding ratio between the quality and cost of human factor, vast presence of key automotive sub-suppliers and appealing investment incentives are making Poland a very favorable destination. Not to name examples of Fiat, GM, Volkswagen, MAN or Toyota to give only a taste of well known brands operating in the country. In a number of cases those companies have been acting in multiple production, service or R&D destinations spread all over the country. It is therefore easy to recognize that Poland is the best greenfield/brownfield investment choice for automotive projects almost irrespective of search criteria. Faurecia, TRW, Delphi Corporation are only a few companies out of many international players from the industry who are constantly proving this statement to be true.

Other advantages worth considering are: great geographical location, economic and political stability, rapidly developing road infrastructure, flexible policy regulations and great economic perspectives (1 M of new vehicles are potentially to be absorbed annually by the market). According to European Commission’s forecast, Poland is to be again one of the fastest growing economies in Europe.

Key features of Polish automotive sector:

  • the biggest in CEE, dynamic and perspective domestic market;

  • automotive clusters in Upper and Lower Silesia as well as in Wielkopolska region;

  • over 900 companies of which 300 with foreign shareholding
  • 350 Tier 1 & 2 operations of Polish origin;

  • approximately 305 suppliers with ISO/TS 16949 certificates;

  • high profile expertise from automotive faculties at Technical Universities in the biggest cities: Warsaw, Gliwice, Wrocław, Poznań, Cracow;

  • EUR 67 Bn cash support from the European Union funds for 2007-2013 is supporting among others R&D activities, innovative investment projects and huge infrastructure improvement’s projects;

  • long industrial traditions within automotive industry dating back to 1920s.
