Pomorskie voivodeship is one of Poland’s most economically developed regions. The ports of Gdańsk and Gdynia are the cradle of Poland’s ship-building industry. At present, the voivodeship is striving to adapt to changing trends in the world economy by expanding its traditional speciality to include the development of such sectors as IT, BPO and RES.

SEA-invest at the Port of Gdańsk
Polish ports, especially the Port of Gdańsk, are developing dynamically thanks to the common effort of the Polish government and investors. It is a big chance for Poland, something to be proud of and a reason of hope for a better future - said Anna Wypych-Namiotko, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Infrastructure a press conference devoted to the investment of SEA-invest at the Port of Gdańsk. The conference was held at the PAIiIZ Information Centre on July 29th, 2010.

Sony Pictures Financial Centre officially opened in the Tri-City
Sony Pictures Entertainment announced the official opening of its latest venture in Poland - the financial centre of Sony Pictures Global Business Services. The official meeting, which took place in the centre of Gdynia Łużycka Office Park, was attended by Gdynia’s Deputy President Michał Guć and Gdańsk Deputy President Andrzej Bojanowski and the President of investGDA Alan Aleksandrowicz.

Good Practices in PPP
The Investment Forum Good Practices in PPP took place at the PAIiIZ seat on November 18th. The Forum was organised by the consulting firm Investment Support. The aim of the meeting was to present legal aspects which play a vital role in projects which fall in the remit of public-private partnership in Poland, to present PPP projects to potential investors, to discuss co-operation opportunities and the best project realisation methods which work in the PPP framework.

Weyerhaeuser to build cellulose fibers processing facility in Gdansk, Poland
Weyerhaeuser Company today announced that it intends to build a new cellulose fibers processing plant in Gdansk. City officials in Gdansk, the largest port city in Poland, announced that Weyerhaeuser had won a competitive tender process to purchase 100,000 square meters of land for this project. The land-sale agreement is expected to be completed by year end and the company plans to break ground for the 17,000-square-meter facility in the spring of 2010.
