Małopolskie voivodeship is situated in south-central Poland. In terms of economic development it is one of the country’s most diversified regions. Compared to other voivodeships, it stands out in terms of the large share of industry and building in global value of sold production. Despite the growing importance of developing sectors such as the high-tech and motor industries, it is such traditional sectors as the metallurgical, heavy-chemical, mining, metal, tobacco and food industries which largely continue to constitute its economic base. Young highly trained human resources are attracting BPO sector companies.
