Remog to open a new plant in Mielec16.08.2005Polish aerospace cluster has attracted another high profile foreign investor. Mielec is the home of the first plant of German Remog GmbH & Co KG in Central Europe. Remog will launch manufacturing facility on the area of 2,000 sq.m. At the first phase 18 new jobs will be created. German investor has chosen one of the major manufacturing centres (Rzeszów being the other one) of Polish aerospace cluster called Aviation Valley. 75 percent of aerospace companies in Poland are geographically concentrated in this south-eastern part of the country with UTC/Pratt & Whitney, Goodrich and Snecma Group being the largest foreign players. This vibrant industrial cluster now attracts a lot of attention from aerospace manufacturers with good prospects for a few more projects to be completed in 2005.

Special Economic Zone EURO - PARK MIELEC has been the first SEZ established in Poland in 1995. Together with its sister Zone, Tarnobrzeg SEZ, it is managed by the Warsaw-based Industrial Development Agency which controls over USD 800 million of assets. Since 1995 the Zone issued 102 permits to foreign and Polish investors, which created over 10,000 new jobs. Total investment outlays exceeds PLN 2.2 billion (USD 600 million), 70 percent of which were invested by foreign companies. Both Mielec and Tarnobrzeg SEZs act as one stop shops for investors offering greenfield and brownfield options as well as turn-key solutions - developing and leasing manufacturing facilities. The list of the foreign companies which used that entry mode include Lear Corporation and C+N Packaging, Inc., from United States (in Mielec) and DÜrr GmbH of Germany (in Radom, Tarnobrzeg SEZ). EURO - PARK MIELEC has also secured the right to issue construction permits within the municipality of Mielec which additionally speeds up the whole investment process.
EURO - PARK MIELEC Special Economic Zone in 2005
On September 15 Industrial Development Agency hosts the seminar "10 years of EURO - PARK MIELEC Special Economic Zone" in Mielec. Representatives of, among others, Polish government, regional authorities, PAIiIZ, members of Parliament and foreign investors, will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the first Polish special economic zone. A special report on Mielec SEZ will be presented, which should be of much interest to everyone interested in regional development issues in Central Europe and Polish experience in this field. The report was prepared by a group of Polish scientists from Jagiellonian University in Kraków. The comprehensive research was coordinated by professor Bolesław Domański.
