Poland & CEE - co-building the Belt & Road

Warsaw
‘Poland & CEE - co-building the Belt & Road’ is the first independent C-level conference on the Belt & Road Initiative from a business & European perspective, exploring what this huge enterprise means for Poland & the CEE region.

Poland and CEE

It’s been over five years since the Belt & Road Initiative was launched by China’s President Xi Jinping, but it’s still unclear whether Poland and the wider Central & Eastern Europe region will truly benefit from it, or if the area will be consigned to ‘corridor’ status between China and the ‘Blue Banana’ part of Central-Western Europe.

The aim of the event is to examine the Belt & Road Initiative from a CEE-centric business perspective, to try and ascertain how much opportunity and potential there actually is from the BRI in this region, and for which sectors.

With top experts in logistics, supply chain, infrastructure and financing from around the world we will provide high-level networking and deliver insights useful for future business development.

The conference is co-hosted by Frank Schuhholz, Founder FMS Advisers, thought leader in multimodal transport, rail and logistics (The Hague), and Wolfgang Lehmacher, thought leader in global transport, logistics and supply chain (Hong Kong), also former Head of Supply Chain & Transport Industries at the World Economic Forum.

Speakers are from various key countries and represent different professional viewpoints in order to generate frank discussion, learn new information, and make or strengthen high-level contacts. Speakers include: Lucio Vinhas de Souza, Head, Economics Team, European Political Strategy Centre, European Commission, Christian Kuhn, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ), Kustaa Valtonen  and Peter Vesterbacka from FinEst Bay Area Development (Finland) ; Dr. Chen Chen, China Special Advisor, Baker McKenzie (Budapest); Dr. Carsten Hinne, CEO, DB Cargo Eurasia, SVP Corridor Development China (Frankfurt); Robert Dobrzycki, CEO, Panattoni Europe (Warsaw); Volker Friedrich, Founder & CEO, GBP International Management Consultancy (Berlin – Beijing); Renata Osiecka, CEO, AXI IMMO (Warsaw); Carsten Pottharst, CEO, InterRail Europe (Frankfurt); Dr. Wulf Meinel, CEO, Frasers Property Europe (Amsterdam); Bartosz Komasa, Head of Corporate Relations, Bank of China (Warsaw); Bartek Pastwa, Board Member, Port of Rijeka (Croatia).
