A Government delegation to Italy

The visit to Rome included a meeting with Polish companies operating in Italy and Italian entrepreneurs interested in investing in Poland. The hosts of the meeting was the Polish Ambassador to Italy, Anna Maria Anders, and PAIH’s Chairman, Krzysztof Drynda. The purpose of the visit was to intensify economic cooperation and strengthen the partnership between the two countries. The program included, among others things, a meeting with the Delegate of the President of Confindustria for Europe - Stefan Pan. Confindustria - the General Confederation of Italian Industry, is an organization of employers and industrialists, founded in 1910 and with its headquartered in Rome.

Today's meeting is the best proof of the importance of the Polish-Italian partnership and the development of this cooperation. Italy is Poland's third trading partner in terms of the value of trade turnover. For years, large companies from Poland have been successful in Italy, paving the way for medium and smaller companies, but also for innovative startups or companies from niche sectors - said Krzysztof Drynda during the meeting.

PAIH’s Chairman declared the Agency’s support in presenting Poland’s export offer in Italy, as well as informing about the conditions for investing in Poland. He indicated that the role of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency is also to mitigate the risks associated with the presence of Polish companies on foreign markets. He emphasized that the event is an opportunity for representatives of Polish and Italian business world to establish and maintain valuable business relationships and to meet directly with a group of potential partners.

The meeting with representatives of Polish companies that have been developing their operations in Italy for years was to indicate new areas of cooperation, but also barriers in which the Polish government can support entrepreneurs. As a result of the talks, Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Gowin proposed to the Italian Minister of Economic Development, Giancarlo Giorgetti, the establishment of a Polish-Italian working group for the elimination of such barriers.

Italy is an important partner

Polish-Italian trade relations have been at a very good level for years. In the period January-April of this year. Polish exports to Italy increased by 43%, and imports from Italy to Poland by 25%. Italy is the third, after Germany and China, Polish partner in terms of the value of trade. It is also the fourth supplier of goods to Poland.
