CPhI India

CPhI India 2019 is the final exhibition event in the calendar of the "Biotechnology and Pharmaceuticals Promotion Program" operated by Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) in the years 2018-2019. The aim of the program is to promote Polish branded products and to strengthen the image of Poland and the Polish economy in the world. It assumes the preparation of national stands at sectoral (pharma/biotech) trade fairs around the world (in India, China, United States, Russia, United Arab Emirates).

Polish pharmaceutical sector is one of the largest in the region of Central and Eastern Europe. According to the most recent data, approximately 350 manufacturers of pharma products employed over 22 thousand people in Poland in 2018. At the same time, export in this industry reached the level of 3.2 bln EUR with Germany, Czech Republic and Russia being its top destinations.

Main competitive advantage of Polish biotech/pharma industries are widely perceived to be advanced versions of generic drugs and competitive prices. Polish industry takes a lot of its strength from close cooperation with well-established educational clusters traditionally providing much needed highly-skilled university postgraduates. Main biotech/pharma clusters and companies are located in the following cities: Gdynia, Warsaw, Poznan, Lodz, Wroclaw, and Cracow.
