Szczecin Science and Technology Park

1. General Information

The Szczecin Science and Technology Park (Szczeciński Park Naukowo-Technologiczny), based on public resources, fosters an environment of innovation in the region of West Pomeranian. They facilitate the organization and cooperation between local scientists, entrepreneurs, and local government.

Policy objectives:
The main purpose of the Park's activity is to create a local and regional innovative environment and to support enterprises oriented on a new technology, institutes of researches and people offering innovation services for productive businesses.

Szczecin Science and Technology Park is a limited company owned by the Commune of Szczecin City. Its aims to:

  • The transfer and commercialisation of technology from the R&D staff of the universities of Szczecin;
  • Gaining financial tenders for realization of innovation activities;
  • To create a proper infrastructure, which will offer a broad range of services to innovative companies.
  • To assure the flow of knowledge from science to economy;

Professional information service includes:

  • Imparting full information about innovative projects and enterprises by creating a database and elaborating promotional materials;
  • Information about investors and free manufacturing and service surface in The Zachodniopomorskie Voivodship. This includes information about the technical state and the legal and economical environment of the area;
  • A database that contain scientific knowledge and possibilities to transfer this knowledge in production and services.

These databases have one purpose: associating business partners - exchanging experiences between universities and contractors.

A good infrastructure will be build in order to:

  • Provide services to SMEs as bookkeeping, and administration;
  • Improve the transfer and commercialisation of technology;
  • Provide training and education; 
  • To give advice and provide consultancy services in the field of R&D; 
  • Establish a firm co-operation with financial negotiations;
  • Recruit new workers;
  • Lease and lend lodging.

The Szczecin Science and Technology Park assists many business companies, especially those small ones, to complete appropriate computing systems, including small systems and advanced branch systems as well.

The Park developed selected web portals for businessmen:
The Education Centre (www.centrumedukacyjne.pl), which allows to learn computer basics;
Szczecin's Business Portal (www.e-mis.szczecin.pl) instructs how to run any kind of business activity;
Centre for testing of computing programs (www.cto.spnt.pl). According to the exactly meaning of the last referred portal name, the program producer delivers ready made applications and everybody can examine them.

The Szczecin Science and Technology Park runs the enterprise incubator which covers the area of 717 sq. m., where 15 companies have their offices. Park offers investment locations covering a total area of 3.5 ha.
