Go Iran: next level
“One of the first Foreign Commercial Offices of PAIiIZ is opening in Tehran”, said president of PAIiIZ Tomasz Pisula at the Polish - Iran Economic Conference. The event was held on 27 January at PAIiIZ with the participation of the representatives of business and administration from Iran.

During the conference, the delegation could meet with Polish entrepreneurs interested in establishing commercial relations with Iran. As stated by the member of the Board of PAIiIZ Wojciech Fedko, the opening of the Office is consistent with the Plan for Responsible Development, as the support for Polish companies to expand into emerging markets. “We want to create distribution channels and support instruments to develop business”, Fedko said.

H.E. Ramin Mehmanparast, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Poland assured, that both economies might work together very well and that PAIiIZ’s office in Tehran is the first foreign commercial office in Iran. “Other countries have already announced that they will follow Poland”, said the Ambassador.

Ghalamreza Shariati, the Governor of Khusestan Provincial argued that Iran, in addition to extensive market (80 million residents), also offers access to a large Asian market. “Our country is ready for international cooperation, particularly with Poland”, said Ghalamreza Shariati. “We are ready for your investments in Iran and in buying your new technologies”, he added.

Esmail Zamani, CEO of the Arvand Free Zone Organization, spoke about the possibilities of bilateral cooperation in shipbuilding, maritime, oil, gas and petrochemical sectors.

During the seminar, the Khuzestan Development and Investment Company and Arvand Free Zone Organisation signed an agreement with Bioelektra Group.

The delegation visited also the Lublin Province, where their participants met with local authorities and entrepreneurs. (PAIiIZ)

PAIiIZ is looking for experts
The Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency launches a network of Foreign Trade Offices (ZBH - Zagraniczne Biura Handlowe), which are representation of PAIiIZ abroad. Their task will be to support the expansion of Polish companies abroad and the acquisition of the Polish foreign investors. First offices have already started to operate, another need some experts. Recruitment of workers for ZBH in the EU, the Middle East, North and South America and Asia already has started.

“We already launched six facilities. Foreign Trade Offices operate in Ho Chi Minh City, Singapore, Tehran, Shanghai, Nairobi and San Francisco”, says Wojciech Fedko, a member of PAIiIZ board. “Another offices in Toronto, Frankfurt, Budapest, Milan, London and Mexico are waiting to be open”, he adds. “Because of this network development, we opened recruitment for approximately 70 facilities. We are looking for experts to work on the markets of EU, the Middle East, North America, South America and Asia”, Fedko commented. Recruitment is for the positions of managers and experts. Their main tasks will include organisation of events promoting Polish economic potential, supporting Polish companies interested in investment and exports, and building a network of contacts and business connections in particular markets. “We want employees of the Foreign Trade Offices to be real experts, in the end they will be acting as ambassadors of the Polish economy. We are looking for competent, entrepreneurial people who are familiar with foreign markets. Foreign Trade Offices are adapted to trends of the world’s economy. The new facilities are supported by Polish Development Fund and will enable Polish entrepreneurs to reach foreign markets with their products. (PAIiIZ)

Swarovski to open Global Business Services hub in Gdańsk
2nd February 2017, Gdańsk - Swarovski has announced to open this year a new business location in Gdańsk. As the global hub of the company’s service delivery network, the centre will develop and deliver high quality, multi-functional services and solutions to all parts of Swarovski. The project was supported by the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency and Invest in Pomerania. The investment announcement ceremony was attended by deputy president of PAiIIZ Krzysztof Senger.

The opening of the company’s Global Business Services hub in Gdańsk is part of a global initiative to ensure that the Finance & Administration function stays a high performing partner. As part of this initiative, selected activities of Swarovski’s Finance & Administration function and businesses will be bundled in Gdańsk.

“The Polish authorities have been highly professional and engaged in their support for us. This has created a solid foundation for a long-term commitment”, stated Marcel Angst, Executive Vice President Global Operations Finance & Administration.

Deputy president of PAIiIZ congratulated the investor and also gave words of appreciation from the Deputy Minister of Development Tadeusz Ko¶ciński for the selection of Gdańsk for the Global Business Service centre of the company.

Swarovski’s investment will ensure a range of new career opportunities. The activities in Gdańsk will include a growing number of global service delivery teams, global centres of expertise and the management of global service delivery network of the company.

Swarovski’s new business location in Gdańsk will be built up gradually: The Managing Director has begun to form a small team and to take up the work activities on a continuous basis. The opening of the permanent office facilities of Swarovski’s Global Business Services hub will take place in summer 2017.

Lubaczów Industrial Park - Gateway to the East
Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency and the City Lubaczów invite to the business conference: Lubaczów Industrial Park - Gateway to the East. The event will take place on 2 March 2017 at the Municipal Culture Centre (Miejscki Dom Kultury) in Lubaczów.

The conference is addressed to the entrepreneurs interested in investing in Lubaczów and other areas of the Special Economic Zone Euro-Park Mielec as well as to the businessmen from Poland and Ukraine interested in the business opportunities in both countries, business environment institutions, and local governments interested in attracting investments in their region. Global Industry Summit 2017 in March
Global Industry Summit is a meeting of the representatives of automotive and aviation sectors, business environment institutions and public administration.

Participants of the two-day conference will discuss issues related to economic policy, exports support, education, industry 4.0, robotics, modern solutions for Industry, the labour market, electro mobility, quality management and Lean Manufacturing.

The meeting will be held from 20th to 21st March, in Katowice.

The Polish-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce (PPCC) and local Partner - the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce in São Paulo (POR) organise the trade mission to São Paulo.

Exports in December
According to estimates from the Polish Export Credit Insurance Corporation (KUKE), exports in December 2016 amounted to EUR 14.015 billion. It was higher by 2.4 percent that in December 2015 and lower than recorded in November.

Measured in PLN, exports amounted to 62.188 billion, what was 5.9 percent more than a year ago and 11.0 percent less than in November.

The decline observed in exports in December is typical. After the previous period (mainly October - November) of stock replenishment for Christmas and New Year, the intensity of the supply drops significantly in December.

New permits in the £ód¼ SEZ
£ód¼ Special Economic Zone gave ten business permits, both to foreign and Polish companies.

Permits were awarded to: Globitel, DWT, Cermont, Union Industries Polska, Geberit Ozorków, De Veris, Fresenius Kabi Polska, ZPOW Agros Nova, Mabion SA and Infosys BPO Poland.

Jointly, the companies are to invest over PLN 486,000 and create 621 new jobs.

ARP supports social campaign in the video game sector
“We want to actively participate in the development of the video game industry. We want talented young people to have the best conditions for development and, therefore, to be able to work in the country. That is why we support social initiatives, which aim is to promote not only the play, but the art of making games”, said the president of the Industrial Development Agency Marcin Chludziński at a ceremony inaugurating the social campaign "programuj.gov.pl".

The aim of the project is to show the video games from more creative perspective. According to the organisers of the campaign, gaming is not only a form of entertainment or a way to spend time, but also the opportunity to participate in the process of programming and creating a virtual reality. Launching the website dedicated to gaming sector, where you'll find all the information about the current projects in this field, open competitions, as well as database of the institutions related to the industry, will be the result of this project.

The programme is supported by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Ministry of Digital Affairs, National Centre for Research and Development, India Games Poland Found and Warsaw Film School. ARP is a partner of the event. (ARP)
