The global, special economic zone ecosystem in Dubai
"Reindustrialization is an important mission for special economic zones in Europe", said PAIiIZ president Sławomir Majman during the 2nd international special economic zones (SEZ) conference. The debate organized by World Free Zones Organization took place on 9-11 May in Dubai.

“The development of special economic zone systems and the redistribution of resources to these zones has led to the rapid development of industries in many parts of the region that were historically less developed”, underlined PAIiIZ president Sławomir Majman. “Free zones also need to continue to focus on developing their human capital through enhancing their skills and knowledge and educating them in various fields”, he added.

During the conversation, experts created a theory about a friendly ecosystem, designed to meet investors half-way.

M&A Worldwide Acquisition Forum
"No sector in any country cannot develop without foreign investments and Poland is an excellent place to locate tchem", said PAIiIZ deputy president Michał D±browski during M&A Worldwide Acquisition and Investment Forum in Warsaw. The event organized under the patronage of PAIiIZ took place on 12 May in Warsaw.

“Poland has 19 public universities, nearly 1.5 million student and over 90% of them speak at least one foreign language, D±browski said. Therefore, we focus on intellectual business. Beside new jobs creation, we want investors to transfer new technologies and new forms of management to Poland, added PAIiIZ deputy president.

The conference was an opportunity to discuss global trends in mergers and acquisitions and to discuss key aspects of the trans border transactions. (PAIiIZ)

Building the Polish superbrands. Now, it’s time for amber.
PAIiIZ signed a contract with Amber Association in Poland. The goal is to cooperate in favour of promoting Polish amber business.

According to the contract, PAIiIZ is obliged to provide the consulting services, organize B2B meetings and send business missions to foreign jewellery trade fair for companies specialized in amber processing. “The Agency will support Polish amberman in acquiring business partners all over the worlds, including Poland”, said PAIiIZ deputy president Michał D±browski.

He also noticed that the luxury goods area, in which Poland has a great potential and is already succeeding, is one of the fastest growing market segments. INVESTMENTS IN POLAND

Next investments completed with PAIiIZ support
The number of investments completed in 2016 with PAIiIZ involvement is growing. Another two investments have been realised with Agency support: BSS centre of in ŁódĽ and aviation engines components factory in Sedziszów. Since the beginning of 2016, PAIiIZ acquired 21 investors. They will invest total of € 210m and create over 4,300 new jobs.

Among just completed investment projects one is provided by Flint Group, which will open the share service centre in ŁódĽ. The second has been operated by French concern Hispano Suiza, building engines components factory in Sedziszów. Along with R&D sector, BSS and aviation industry - two sectors represented by above mentioned investors are the most popular areas of investment activity this year. (PAIiIZ)

Ryanair enters Wrocław
Ryanair is opening a IT Centre in Poland that will be provided by Travel Labs Poland owned by the Irish company. “More than half a year of intensive collaboration between PAIiIZ and Ryanair, as well as the strong position of Wrocław on the European IT services map - those were the key arguments to choose Poland, said PAIiIZ deputy president Michał D±browski announcing the decision of Ryanair during the conference on 10 May in Wrocław.

Ryanair’s state-of-the-art digital and IT innovation hub in Wrocław will be open in August. Currently, the company is recruiting 90 programmers.

Therefore, those who want to "fly high", know that there is no better place like Poland. Today, employing over 150,000 of IT experts, Poland has one of the most mature business services sectors (BSS) in the world, while the BSS is considered as the fastest growing segment of Polish economy, D±browski commented. VIII European Economic Congress in Katowice

Two discussion panels, both featuring Polish and Chinese experts, representing business related groups, science and public administration of both countries will take place as part of the V Europe - China Economic Cooperation Forum. Discussions will be led by PAIiIZ president Sławomir Majman.

On the 20 May, starting from 9.30, PAIiIZ experts and guests will discuss the issues regarding „New Silk Road”. The initiative crucial points will be raised: transport, logistics, trade exchange, present Chinese economy situation, new opportunities of cooperation with China, including One Belt, One Road project, perspectives for Polish business, transferring products, knowledge and technology between Europe and China.

Next, starting from 11:30 am, the debate „Finance, investments, industry” will take place. During this debate, entrepreneurs will learn about, what is the Chinese role in financing infrastructure projects in Europe and chances for energy, infrastructure, agriculture and production sectors in China.

Cooperation with China is one of the subjects raised during the congress in Katowice. We recommend all the events featuring PAIiIZ experts! AutoEvent 2016 in Zawiercie
The twelfth edition of the largest and most important conference for the automotive industry AutoEvent 2016 will be held this year from 14 to 16 June in Zawiercie. The event is held under the patronage of PAIiIZ.

The two-day event attracts an average of 250 participants from sectors such as car manufacturing, parts and components, materials and prefabricated elements, machinery, equipment and tools, robotics and automation, logistics, software for industrial applications and business financing.

AutoEvent is the place to go for important contacts and contracts, as confirmed by the opinions of participants and the presence of esteemed guests, such as the managers of Poland’s largest vehicle factories, representatives from purchase departments, major manufacturers of parts and components, and service providers. THE GOLDEN SITE CONTEST

Final call to apply in the contest Golden Site Contest
20 may is the deadline for Polish local authorities to apply in the 7th Grunt na Medal Contest/ Golden Site Contest for the best investment plots in Poland. The competition is addressed to every community in Poland that is looking for new investors. The contest is worth a challenge. According to PAIiIZ data, over half of the recent winners have already attracted significant investment projects.

Once every two years, “Grunt na Medal / The Golden Site Contest is arranged by PAIiIZ together with the Marshall Offices of sixteen Polish provinces and Investor Service Centres (COI) under the patronage of the Polish government. The contest has been designed to select sixteen best greenfield plots in Poland - one per every 16 provinces. The investment are should be prepared for industrial issues and cover at least 2 hectares of ground.

Every community can and should take a part in the contest by submitting not one, but few plots that are located within the community - no matter who owns the ground. However, the submitted plot cannot be located in any Polish Special Economic Zone or operate within any Technology Park.

“Grunt na Medal / The Golden Site Contest” is really worth a challenge. Every community invited to the final stage of the contest can be sure that it offers good quality investment plots and a first class service for investors. Moreover, winning the contest significantly increases the chance to win an investment contract. Since 2005, 52 out of 96 recent winners of Grunt na Medal has welcomed new investors.

Wrze¶nia is one of the communities that benefited from taking part in the contest. In 2015 it won the edition in Wielkopolska province and few year later manages to attract one of the biggest global automotive player, Volkswagen that created there a Crafter factory for over €800m.

By 20 May every Polish community is invited to register and submit the application. Then the plots will be assessed, selected, and those that will enter to the short list will be visited and examined during a special study visit of experts. The list of winners of 7th Grunt na Medal / The Golden Site Contest will be published in Autumn 2016.

Internship PAIiIZ for representatives of 60 local authorities
PAIiIZ trained new employees of local administration institutions. During the two-day internship trainees learned the principles of cooperation with the Agency. They also were provided with information how to effectively support investors and promote the strengths of the regions.

Therefore, your activity and the quality of the information you provide impacts on effect of investments, - said Michał D±browski, PAIiIZ deputy president to 60 officials from across the Poland, who trained at the Agency.
