NEWS 20 Polish companies fighting for contracts in India
More than 20 companies and Polish government delegation headed by deputy prime minister Piotr Gliński and deputy minister of development Tadeusz Kościński are visiting India. Together with the PAIiIZ deputy president Krzysztof Senger, they all encourage Indian business to cooperate with Poland, during Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2017. Poland is one of the strategic partners of this prestigious event.
For Polish companies, India is not a new market, especially when it comes to investments. This is the third after the US and Canada non-European country, in which Polish business invests the most. According to the latest data of the National Bank of Poland, the total value of Polish foreign direct investment in India reaches $235m.
Gathering 10,000 representatives of businesses and governments from more than 100 countries, Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2017 is an opportunity to show the full spectrum of Polish economy. This one of the largest business events in India is accompanied by trade show, where Polish offer is presented at national stand that covers the area of 100m2. Manufacturer of metal products, Termetal is developing a new production plant near Kielce. The investment is due to the development of exports activity of this Poland-based company.
The Termetal galvanizing plant, that will be ready to operate at the beginning of 2018, is being built in Morawica, close to Kielce. This is the first production facility of the company in Świętokrzyskie. The province that is developing the metal-sector specialization in the region. The company is already present in the north of Poland, in Piła and Grudziądz.
Termetal’s products are sold on the Polish market as well as in Russia, Ukraine, North Africa and in the Middle East. (Kielce/Termeta) EVENTS Transport & Logistic IT Start-ups Latvia Business Forum

Japanese IT market is the 3rd largest in the world and 2nd largest among OECD countries, 323 billion dollars (2014, OECD), and growing steadily. Japan is looking for new technologies. Especially, such areas as IoT, cyber security, big data, FinTech and so on are attracting enormously high attention in the market and companies pour into a lot of spending.  On 3 January 2017 Lublin will hold the 4th Outsourcing Stars Gala. Every year, the event gathers experts of outsourcing industry and representatives of Polish and global BSS companies operating in the country. PAIiIZ took the patronage over the event.During the Gala the winners of the Outsourcing Stars 2016 contest will be presented. The venue will also hold the networking session on BSS during which experts will sum up the 2016 in the industry. Kamiennagóra Special Economic Zone has introduced the INWESTOR app that allows any investor to get information about a selected site.
With INWESTOR app, every investor can quickly and easily search for sites with needed parameters. The app also gives a user the access to documents, photos and visualization of the selected site. INWESTOR is available since the beginning of 2017, on-line on www.mapa.ssemp.pl.
Also this year the management board of Kamienngóra SEZ is applying for adding 167 hectares of new area to the zone. Currently, the zone covers 373,83 hectares. In 2016, Kamiennagóra SEZ has issued 3 business permits worth PLN 25,4m in total. As a result, 45 new jobs has been created. (Kamiennagóra SSEMP) Mielec Special Economic Zone gets bigger
Euro-Park Mielec Special Economic Zone was extended by 174,712 hectares. Also four new sub-zones has been created, there.
Six investors will develop their business on private sites newly included to the zone. Those are: furniture manufacturer Furineo (investment plot in Radzyń Podlaski); aviation company MB Aerospace, that has invested in Rzeszów; two manufacturers of chemical products Bispol (Łańcut) and Albatros Bikom (Chelm); Fabryka Łożysk Metalowych that runs a project in Kraśnik as well as manufacturer of plastic Splast, investing in Jedlicze. In Mielec SEZ, new sub-zones have just been created in: Jedlicze, Krasnystaw, Brzozów and Strzyżów. Authorities of the zones are now building two production halls to be rented or leased by potential investors. In 2016, managed by ARP, Mielec SEZ issued 40 business permits, with a total value of over PLN 760m. Under these projects, 970 new jobs will be created, and further 3,100 will be maintained. Starachowice SEZ is the next special economic zone which changed its borders. The zone has grown by 52 hectares, but at the same time part of the land has been excluded, there.
Starachowice SEZ incorporated more than 52 hectares of new investment areas, of which 14.4 hectares are public land, the rest are private sites owned by three investors: Star-Dust that invests in the Końskie, Azoty Group that is developing the project in Puławy, and Selfo Polska that will operate in Kielce. Investors declared to create a total of 65 new jobs maintain 619 already existing jobs, there. Authorities of the zone estimate that new areas in the Zone can attract next investments worth even PLN 500m and as a result generate over 480 new jobs. At the same time 32,9 hectares of land have been excluded from the zone. Currently, Starachowice SEZ covers the area of 664,15 hectares. (Starachowice SEZ) DID YOU KNOW...? Poland has been listed as one of the best place to visit in 2017 by Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue.
In the Harper’s Bazaar’s “17 best places to travel in 2017”, Poland and its capital city Warsaw are places to “have on the radar, when planning this year's getaways”. The country was put on the list together with such destinations as New Zeeland, Finland or Republic of South Africa. Moreover, according to Vogue, exploring Central Eastern Europe and visiting such cities as Kraków and Wrocław where history meets modernity, are this year’s top touristic trend.
When writing about Poland, both magazines stress the dynamics and vibrancy of Polish cities. They say it lies in their unique spirit of the country.
