7 new FDI in PAIiIZ this spring
PAIiIZ investment portfolio has grown by 7 new FDI projects. Currently, the Agency supports 179 investments from all over the world with a total value of € 3,69bn that can lead to the creation of over 40,000 new jobs. Moreover, in recent days PAIiIZ has successfully finished 3 projects.

The majority of investments supported by the Agency is provided in Poland by the US companies. Together, American investors run 46 projects with a total value of € 546.3 m. If all completed, they can generate 10,267 new jobs in the country. The second place is held by German companies while the third are investors from France.

Companies that are interested in investing in Poland operate mostly in BSS (66 projects), automotive (35 projects), R&D (15 projects) and aviation (11 projects) sectors. In terms of the size of employments BSS predominates (over 18,000 new jobs planned). The second is automotive sectors (9,885 new jobs planned).

EVENTS

Trade mission to Kazakhstan
PAIiIZ together with the Polish - Kazakhstan Chamber of Commerce invite companies to join the mission to 3rd International Retail Business Summit in Almaty. The mission is arranged under patronage of the Polish Ministry of Development and headed by deputy minister Witold Słowik.

3rd International Retail Business Summit is one of the biggest business and trade events in the region and a chance for companies operating in Poland to enter Kazakhstan market.

The mission will last between: 22-23 April 2016.

Two Go China missions
Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency within GO China programme invite companies to participate in two economic missions to China: to Yiwu between 13-16 May 2016 and to Ningbo between 9-12 June 2016.

China YIWU Imported Commodities Fair is a fair dedicated to imported products: consumer goods of daily use, luxury goods (glass, crystal, etc.) mother & baby products, household items, health products, food, children's clothing, artwork, jewellery, gifts and cosmetics.

China-CEEC Investment and Trade Expo 2016 is a fair dedicated to goods exported from the CEEC countries. The event is a perfect occasion to enter the Chinese market by meeting brokers, importers and representatives of the Chinese distribution channels. Apart for this, the event also enables the participants to take part in the B2B meetings. (PAIiIZ)

Economic Forum in Racibórz
Cityhall of Raciborz, together with Katowicka Special Economic Zone, Racibórz Chamber of Commerce and PAIiIZ that holds the patronage over the event, invite all to join Forum Gospodarcze “Racibórz - Zainwestuj u nas” (Racibórz - Invest Here Economic Forum). The event will be held on 6 April at 10:00. The city of Racibórz is located in Śląsk province.

During the forum, representatives of Racibórz Cityhall and Katowice SEZ will present the investments advantages of the city and the zone. Also companies that have already invested in Racibórz will take part in the forum to talk about doing business there. One of them is Koltech that invite participants of the event to join the study visit in the company’s headquarters that will be held on 4 April.

Signing the agreement between Racibórz and PAIiIZ has been also scheduled. The cooperation between two partners will strengthen the investment attractiveness of the city and should attract new business there.

3rd Automotive Day
The third Automotive CEE Day under the patronage of the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency (PAIiIZ) is going to take place on 14-15 April in Opole.

This meeting should facilitate establishing cooperation between purchase departments of the automotive producers and the potential subcontractors.

During 2015 edition of the CEE Day participants took part in more than 500 meetings. This year participation was confirmed by such companies as Volkswagen Poznań, PSA Slovakia, Polaris, Plastic Omnium (Slovakia), Gestamp (Spain), Gedia and Sanden.

Take part in the Horizon 2020 programme
The meeting will be held on 21 April 2016 and is a part of the Transport Research Arena 2016 (TRA 2016) conference organised in Warsaw on 18-21 April.

Over 2,000 representatives of science, researches and industry from all over the world will participate in the event. They operate in such sectors as road, rail, water and air (mainly the airport) transport.

The brokerage event is an opportunity to establish a consortium and discuss cooperation in the preparation of the proposal of the project. So far, such meetings were held only in Brussels. Thanks to the efforts of the National Contact Point for Research Programmes of the EU, the European Commission agreed to organise the event in Warsaw.

Poland - Georgia Economic and Investment Forum
Polish Chamber of Commerce together with the Ministry of Development, PAIiIZ, Georgian National Investment Agency and Embassy of Georgia invite Polish companies to join Poland - Georgia Economic and Investment Forum. The event will be held on 5 April in the Ministry of Development (Plac Trzech Krzyży 3/5 in Warsaw) at 11:00.

During the forum, business opportunities of both countries will be presented. Also a B2B session will be arranged for companies interested in business contacts in such sectors as: agriculture, food, machinery, tourism and real estate.

The event is a part of the programme of the official visit of minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia to Poland, Mr Mikheil Janelidze.

Gulf ready to Polish investments
On 19 April at 10:00 Ministry of Development will hold the Poland - EU - Gulf Cooperation Council.

The meeting promotes the economic cooperation between the three parties and aim to encourage Polish companies to invest and do business in the Persian Gulf countries.

The Forum is organized by CASE Centre for Social and Economic Research, PAIiIZ, Lewiatan Confederation, Centre for International Initiatives and Polish Institution of International Affairs.

FROM THE REGIONS

Economic Activity Zone in Bobolice
Economic Activity Zone (SAG) has been created in Bobolice (Zachodniopomorskie region) to raise investment attractiveness of the region and to support SMEs and new jobs creation there.

The area of SAG in Bobolice covers land located in the industrial part of the city. The area is owned by the community as well as private owners. The SAG area is dedicated for industry, logistic centres, depots, crafts and manufacturing services. Currently, the local government is trying to include the plots into the Słupsk SEZ.

Bobolice also has applied for funds for equipping the SAG area in media, building roads, walkways and lighting. Moreover, local government is preparing a local development plan for this area.

In November of 2015, Bobolice was awarded the title of Leader of Regional Development 2015 by the Polish Regional Development Agency (PARP) for positive changes in the environment, the development of the community, and its inhabitants. (Bobolice)

Sanden Manufacturing Poland grows in Polkowice
Japanese manufacturer of compressors for car air conditioning systems, Sanden Manufacturing Poland is building a logistic centre in Legnicka SSE.

This is the 144th business permit issued by the zone since it was created and the 4th given to Sanden Manufacturing Poland. Again, the company has chosen Polkowice and will invest there about PLN 13,4m for to build there a new logistic centre. The investor is also planning to create new jobs in the centre.

Sanden Manufacturing Poland has been operating in Polkowice since 2005 and employs 675 people there. Every year, the factory produces over 1.6m compressors for European factories of: Volkswagen, Ford, Volvo, Jaguar and McLaren. This is the 40% of Sanden’s capacity in Europe. (LSSE)

Jadar is opening a factory in Lublin
Jadar will build one of the most innovate factories of paving stones and concrete elements in Poland. The investment’s cost will reach PLN 30m.

The factory will be situated in former Odlewnia Ursus manufactory. The production process will be based on two innovative production lines with automatic equipment and integrated computer systems. The investment will be completed in the third quarter of 2016. (Jadar)

How to find Polish products among vast range of others in your shop? New app called “Pola” will help you to do that. You only need to download it and scan barcode on a product.

“Pola” will tell you which company has Polish capital and if it is produced locally. It will also give you information on employment rate in the company that produces your favourite products.  It will help you not only to find Polish food products, but also such items as magazines and books.

How does it work? “Pola” gives every producer from 0 to 100 points: up to 35 points for the share of Polish capital in a company; up to 30 points for number of products manufactured in Poland and up to 15 points  for lever of employment in Research and Development within the company. 10 extra points are given every company that doesn’t belong to any foreign corporations.
