INVESTMENTS IN POLAND

Six permits in Pomeranian Special Economic Zone
Pomeranian Special Economic Zone finished December 2015 by issuing permits for a six investors. Throughout 2015, the zone gave permits to 15 companies that all together will invest over PLN 380.7m and will create 444 new jobs, maintaining 2,601 already existing.

Among the receivers of latest business permits issued by PSEZ, there is a producer of frozen food Pinguin Foods Poland, which plans to increase its production capacity by investing PLN 55m in building a new plant and employing 30 people. The same amount will be spent by Boryszew Components Poland to create a new plant manufacturing plastic components in Toruń. The investor intends to employ 200 people there. In Gdańsk Kokoszki, the subzone of PSSE, a manufacturer of catamarans powered by photovoltaic cells, Green Dream Boats, will built a production hall. The company will spend PLN 8,6m for this purpose and for creating new jobs for 15 people. Akomex is the next company that received the business permit by the zone in December. This is the third time when Akomex enters Pomerania SEZ. Now, in Stargard, the company is to invest PLN 20m for expanding its factory of products for packaging. Also for the third time, the zone issued a permit for Ciech Soda Poland, a producer of chemical raw materials. The company plans to expand the production facility in Janikowo investing PLN 70m. A subzone Czarnkowo construction company reinvests Steico earmarked to launch a new production line of 60 million zł. (PSEZ)

Słupsk SEZ with 8 permits in 2015
8 permits and creation of the largest photovoltaic roof power station in Pomerania - this are the most significant achievements of Słupsk Special Economic Zone in 2015.

2015 was a very intense year for the authorities of the Słupsk SEZ. The zone got bigger by 37 hectares by covering plots at Darłów and Lebork and in the attractive area close to planned S6 speedway. Słupsk SEZ also issued 8 new investment permits for the projects that in total are worth PLN 60m. Due to them 100 new jobs will be created in the region and 200 other will be maintained. Moreover, in 2015 Słupsk signed the partnership agreement with PAIiIZ joining the group of Partner Cities of the Agency. (SSEZ)

Łódź SEZ with new plans for 2016
In 2015 Łódź Special Economic Zone has initiated 13 new investments with a total value of PLN 558m. The majority of them are reinvestments. In 2016, the zone is preparing to increase its area by next 22 hectares.

Within 13 investments that received a business permit by Łódź SEZ last year, 481 new jobs will be created in the zone while 1,193 will be maintained. ŁSEZ also informed that the biggest project in 2015, both in terms of expenditures (PLN 135m) and employment (107 new jobs), was conducted by a Polish company Ceramika Tubądzin. It is worth noting that it is the fourth time when Grupa Tubądzin will operate under the Łódź Special Economic Zone.

In 2016, ŁSEZ expects to expand the zone by areas where 4 new investment projects in Łódź, Kutno, Sławno and Konin will be implemented. The total value of investments that will be held there reaches PLN 345.3m. Moreover, at least 427 new jobs will be created due to them. Łódź SEZ will be also expanded plots in Kutno and Łowicz. Results of Warmia-Mazury SEZ in 2015
Last year, the Warmia-Mazury Special Economic Zone issued 11 business permits. Companies granted by those permits declared investment outlays of PLN 426m and the creation of 615 new jobs.

The largest investments of WMSEZ in 2015 was a construction new Paged - Sklejka SA factory in Morąg (value of: PLN 151.7m, 110 new jobs planned) as well as the expansion of production plant of Żuławska Fabryka Mebli in Elblag (value of: PLN 75m; 170 jobs planned). By the end of 2015,there are 79 companies operating under Warmia-Mazury Special Economic Zone.

Last year, the zone was also expanded by 42.5 hectares of investment areas and now covers an area of 1,057.4 hectares divided in to 30 sub-zones. (WMSSE)

Borgers Poland cerates 600 new jobs
Even 600 new jobs can be created within Borgers Poland investment in Złotoryja (Dolny Śląsk province), under the Legnica Special Economic Zone.

Operating for 150 years in automotive accessories sector, Borgers, is to build a production hall in the Złotoryja subzone of Legnica SEZ. The value of the first stage of the project is PLN 127m, while the total value of the investment should reach PLN 220m. The company announced that initially 600 new jobs will be created in the factory in Złotoryja.

In 2015, Złotoryja subzone was the most often chosen location in the whole Legnicka SEZ. Thanks to the investment of three companies (Borges, Bisek-Asfalt and Schneider) at least 245 new jobs will be created there in the nearest future. (LSEZ)

Poland and China closer to each other
On 21 January, DAGO conference centre in Warsaw will hold the meeting entitled: ”The New Silk Road - Poland and China closer to each other”.

The meeting will gather economists, companies already present in China and other experts that will present the prospect of China development and its relations with the European Union.

The event is dedicated to business representatives interested in trading with China and other Asian countries.

Gulf Industry Fair in Bahrain
Trade and Investment Promotion Section of the Polish Embassy in Abu Dhabi invites Polish companies to promote their products at the Polish national stand during the Gulf Industry Fair in Bahrain, held from 9 to 11 February 2016. The access on the stand is free of charge.

The offer is addressed to Polish companies operating in the following sectors: energy and the environment, protection the shipping, industrial processes and processing, metallurgy, steel and aluminium production and industrial logistics.

IT Business in Poland
BPC Group invites IT suppliers interested in Polish market to join “IT Business in Poland” conference. The event will be held from 9 to 10 March 2016 in Kraków.

IT Business in Poland

Poland is considered is an attractive market for IT solution suppliers. Until the end of 2016, over 400 of small and medium enterprises will make an investment in advanced IT solutions.

The conference "IT Business in Poland" will be attended by 150 representatives of decision-makers from companies operating in Poland. The event will be divided into two parts: the workshops devoted to analysing expectations of Polish enterprises to IT solutions and the presentation of IT systems.

What powers Polish export in 2015?
According to the latest data of GUS (Central Statistical Office), Poland intensively explores new markets. However, it is the cooperation with the European Union that still is the driving force of the Polish exports.

In the 10 months of 2015, the largest increase in Polish exports (EUR 1,7 billion) was recorded to the developing markets (14.2 percent y/y). The second was the European Union, with growth rates of 9.4 percent y/y. When speaking of the real value, the UE still is the undisputed leading direction of Polish of foreign trade. The increase of the total value of goods exported to the EU was impressive. It went up by EUR 12,4 bn y/y.

Among the biggest importers of Polish goods in 2015 they are: the Netherlands (+16,3% y/y), Spain (+13.9% y/y) and Italy (+ 12.7% y/y ). Good results were also obtained by the three major recipients of "Made in Poland" products: Germany (up by 10.1% y/y), the UK (up by 11.7% y/y) and the Czech Republic (up by 11.2% y/y). In total, in the January-October 2015 period, the value of exports to these three countries increased by more than EUR 7 bn euros. (GUS/Akcenta)
