PAIiIZ and APIX starts cooperation
In the presence of both presidents: Andrzej Duda and Marcky Sall, PAiiIZ and APIX - Senegalese investment agency signed the memorandum of understanding.

“We are now in the process of economic development, therefore every effort supporting the growth of Senegal is essential for us”, commented president of Senegal Marcky Sall.

Under the agreement, PAIiIZ and APIX (L'agence pour la promotion des investissements et grands travaux) will promote private investments in each countries and support the development of friendly business environment for investments. Both agencies will also exchange information on economy with each other.

Senegal is a strategic partner of Poland in the Western Africa. (PAIiIZ)

Belarus needs Polish investments
“We are opening the new chapter of Polish-Belarusian cooperation. We hope that the quality of this relation will be improved. Bilateral trade exchange is getting more intense. However, our expectations are much bigger - said deputy prime minister Mateusz Morawiecki, during the governmental visit in Belarus that was also attended by PAIiIZ president Tomasz Pisula.

The Polish governmental delegation took part in Poland-Belarus Intragovernmental Committee of Economic Cooperation as well as in the 20th Neighborliness Economic Forum to meet and provide talks with president of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, prime minister Andrej Kobiakow and deputy president Michail Rusy.

During the Forum, in the presence of deputy prime minister Morawiecki, deputy minister of economic development Radosław Domagalski and deputy prime minister Michaił Rusy, the letter of intent was signed to express the will to establish Polish - Belarusian Centre of Initial Public Offering (IPO). The Centre will provide education, consulting and support for Belarusian business. It will also offer the access to financing instruments by Polish capital market. The letter of intent was signed by Warsaw Stock Exchange, Polish - Belarusian Trade and Industrial Chamber as well as Belarusian State University. “Belarus needs Polish investments. Poland is a natural partner for this country”, commented PAIiIZ president Tomasz Pisula who was participating in Polish Belarusian negotiations.

From Korea to Taipei
After the mission to Seoul, Deputy Minister of Development Tadeusz Kościński and Deputy President of PAIiIZ Krzysztof Senger went to Taiwan. The delegation took part in the Taiwan-Poland Joint Business Council Meeting, Taiwan-Poland Economic Consultations and meetings in Taiwanese companies.

TajpeiThe official programme of the mission began with the Taiwan-Poland Joint Business Council Meeting, held on 21 October at the Taipei World Trade Centre. Then, during the 6th Taiwan-Poland Economic Consultations, Deputy President Senger presented the possibilities of doing business in Poland and the investment climate in the country. The mission was attended by senior representatives of the Chief Veterinary Inspectorate, PARP, KIG and of the units at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR) and the Polish Centre for Accreditation.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Taiwan is so-called newly industrialised economy with high economic growth. One of the most famous Taiwanese companies are ASUS, Acer, BENQ, HTC, and leading bicycles manufacturers Giant and Merida. (PAIiIZ)

Go Poland, Go Global
“The technology itself is not enough for the international expansion, what is needed is a state aid. We are preparing a whole range of export support for Polish companies, which has enormous potential for development”, said deputy president of the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency (PAIiIZ) Wojciech Fedko during the debate "Poland, Europe, World Go Poland, Go Global" held on 24 October in Warsaw.

Mr. Fedko emphasised that support of the export offered by the Agency will be tailored to the needs of companies in specific markets. “Strategies differ geographically. Demand in developed markets is different than in emerging markets”, said deputy president.

VW Crafter's factory in open
On 24 October in Białężyce near Września, the opening ceremony of Volkswagen Crafter’s factory was held. The total value of the project of building the factor and equipping it with production line is estimated at PLN 3,3 bn. 3,000 people will work there. According to the Ministry of Development, this is the biggest foreign investment in Poland. The project has been supported by PAIiIZ.

The opening ceremony was held in the presence of deputy minister of development Tadeusz Kościński, members of the board of the Volkswagen, as well as the representatives of Wielkopolskie local administration including Września.

Undoubtedly, it is an investment that will generate the highest added value for the Polish economy" - minister Kościński said. Survey on investment climate in Poland

7th MotoSolution - best practices in automotive business
Forum MotoSolutions is one of the most popular conference dedicated to the automotive industry in Poland. The event is directed primarily to managers and middle managers of manufacturing plants.

This year, participants will learn about the impact of ongoing investments of such companies as Volkswagen Poznań (factory in Września), GM Manufacturing Poland, MAN Truck & Bus (Starachowice) on the automotive industry. 2nd Innovative Manufacturing Forum
The 2nd  Innovative Manufacturing Forum will focus on development and competitiveness of industrial production. The event will be held from 9 to 10 November at the Warsaw Radisson Blu Hotel.

Polish companies win “Technology Fast 50” ranking
Polish companies took the first two places of the 17th Technology Fast 50 - the ranking of the fastest growing technology companies in Central and Eastern Europe. This year, 17 Polish companies was classified in the ranking.

First place in the 2016 ranking goes to the Polish tech marketing hub and software business Codewise from Kraków, whose amazing three-year growth rate of over 13% eclipses the still highly impressive record from 2015 when winning the Rising Stars award. Unsurprisingly, given this growth rate, Codewise also won the Big Five award this year. The second-placed CodiLime software business, also from Poland, is this year's debutant in the ranking.

The third Polish company in the top ten is Miquido (8th place), producer of mobile applications. In total, there were 17 Polish companies in the main category of the ranking.

For the first time, Clean Tech & Biotech and Nanotech & Medtech companies were classified in the ranking. The revenue growth rate of all companies in the ranking was 1057% in 2015, almost twice as high as in a previous year.

The Deloitte Technology Fast 50 in Central Europe is a programme that recognises and profiles fast growing technology companies in the region. The winners for 2016 are determined based on the revenue growth over four years (2012 to 2015).

It consists of three categories: main "Technology Fast 50" and the two subcategories "Rising Star" and the "Big Five". Technology companies are invited to self-nominate. Financial data about the companies are provided by the entrants themselves and then cross-checked by Deloitte. (Deloitte)

R&D activity in Poland goes up
Expenditures on investments in R&D went up by 11.7% in Poland r/r, while investments on that purpose increased by 18.6%, reports Central Statistical Office of Poland (GUS). The Office also estimates that the total value of expenditures on providing research and development in 2015 had the same value as 1% of the Polish GDP.

In 2015, the value of all R&D activities in Poland reached PLN 18bn. Almost half of it was generated by the business sector (46.5% of the total share of R&D expenditures). The report also shows that public sector has still the biggest share in the structure of sources of funding of R&D activities. However, the share of public sector in financing researches has been going down during last five years (by 20%) as the share of the business goes up. The Central Statistical Office also shows that the sector employs 160,000 people in the country and that this number has not been changed between 2014-2016 (the increase only by 2,9%). (GUS)

Unemployment drops to record low
Unemployment in Poland fell to 8.3%  in September, the Central Statistical Office informed. This is the lowest level from 25 years. Earlier, the Ministry of Labour, Family and Social Policy estimated unemployment at 8.4 percent.

The number of registered unemployed totaled 1,324.1 million at the end of September, compared to 1,346.9 million a month earlier. This is a drop of 1.7 percent. Looking for y/y, the drop was at the level of 14 percent.

The unemployment rate went down m/m in all voivodships, with the exception of Pomerania, where it remained unchanged. As for the y/y, unemployment fell in all voivodships. The biggest drop was recorded in warmińsko-mazurskie and zachodniopomorskie region (2.7 pp).
