FROM THE REGIONS

Pomorze Investor Assistance Centre - active and successful

In the last months the Centre recorded a 30% y-o-y increase in the number of investor inquiries.

In February this year the Centre issued a new publication “Invest in Pomerania” which you can find here www.madeinpomorskie.pl/files/108/226/19_invest_in_pomerania.pdf. New materials were presented on the international CeBIT fairs in Hannover which were attended by representatives of the region.

Last year representatives of the Centre took part in a trade mission to Flanders where the Centre promoted Pomorze. Thanks to the mission Pomorze was visited by the Flanders president - Kris Peeters. Due to the fact that both regions have a similar economic structure, the potential to enter into a fruitful co-operation is big.

There were also some investment successes e.g. the ICT project by Nevion, a company which will in the upcoming months open its office in Gdańsk.

In the first quarter of the year the Centre received results of an Analysis of investment attractiveness of the Pomorze region which was prepared by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and the Gdańsk Institute for Market Economics (IBnGR) and shows priority sectors which stand a good chance of developing in the future. That is why regional marketing will focus on attracting investors from the main three sectors: ICT, BPO/SCC and logistics as well as from the following industries which are expected to develop in the region in the future: energetic, chemical (pharmaceutics and cosmetics) and automotive.

At the moment the team from the Pomorze Investor Assistance Centre have been preparing themselves for the Amstardam Shared Service&Outsourcing Week. (Pomorze Investor Assistance Centre)
