Rush hours in Beijing - governmental visit in China
Polish minister of foreign affairs Witold Waszczykowski is visiting China. After Chengdu, official meetings have been scheduled in Beijing. The governmental delegation has been joint by deputy minister of economy Radosław Domagalski, PAIiIZ president Sławomir Majman, representatives of Ministry of Treasure, experts regarding infrastructure as well as members of PLL LOT aviation company.

On Monday, 25 April, the delegation paid a visit to the biggest Chinese players in the financial sectors. The meeting were accompanied by representatives of the Silk Road Found, Huawei, China Investment Corporation, Exim Bank, ICBC, COSCO and China Great Wall. Polish officials also attend a meeting in the biggest analytic hub in the country - the China Academy of Social Science.

On the next day, 26 April, meeting with vice president of the People's Republic of China, Li Yuanchao and Chinese minister of foreign affairs, Wang Yi was scheduled. The talks focused on bilateral economic and political cooperation including common development of One Belt One Road project as well as project focused on collaboration between 16 CEEC with China called 16+1.

Go Algeria
“Algerian market has a great potential, strengthened by a friendly atmosphere from both your and our site”, said deputy president of PAIiIZ Michał D±browski while opening the conference "Poland-Algeria: the opportunity of export and investment for Polish entrepreneurs." The meeting was held on 26 April, at PAIiIZ.

In 2012, Algeria was included in the list of the seven most promising countries for the development of Polish exports. Among the potential areas of cooperation there are: automotive, construction, metallurgy, mining, pharmaceutical, household appliances and shipbuilding sectors. Also, the implementation of a five-year development plan of Algeria can be an opportunity for Polish companies. Poland may become a provider of products and services in the field of environmental protection, telecommunications, IT, tourism and infrastructure.

Since time, a series of activities aimed at strengthening business relationships was arranged. Including those implemented under the government programme Go Africa, which allows, Polish entrepreneurs to participate in missions under the “governmental umbrella”. Last year, two delegations - chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture visited Algeria. This year, late May/early June the next mission is planned, this time led by deputy minister of development Radosław Domagalski. (PAIiIZ)

Polish business at Retail Business Kazakhstan
Polish companies representing agri-food, machinery and clothing industry went to Kazakhstan to take part in Retail Business Kazakhstan 2016. The business mission was headed by deputy minister of development Witold Słowik.

The delegation took part in conference dedicated to the removal of barriers to international trade between Polish and Kazakhstan.

During the event, Polish delegation provided business talks with Kazakhstanis deputy minister of agriculture Ermek Koszerbajew, veterinary and argi-food experts and members of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The talks were focused on cultivation, storage and processing of apples from Poland as well as on mushroom farming. Both sides also discussed veterinary and phytosanitary regulations and tariffs on agricultural products imported to Kazakhstan from outside the Eurasian Economic Union. They also mentioned challenges regarding certification of products imported to Kazakhstan from outside EaUG as well as problems with the transit of goods from the EU. For instance in Kazakhstan there are separate safety regulations. (PAIiIZ)

INVESTMENTS IN POLAND

PAIiIZ and Bridge One for start-ups
Together with Bridge One venture capital PAIiIZ will support Polish star-ups and innovators. Both sides signed the cooperation agreement on 25 April 2016.

PAIiIZ and Bridge One have very ambitious plans. Together, they will establish a business model providing support for the most promising Polish techno projects. It will allow partners to select, promote and match young companies with best investors all over the world.

Japanese success of Velis IT
Operating in advanced information technology, Velis IT has signed a contract with the Japanese company G.I.Tec Japan. From this moment, Polish IT solutions will be exported to one of the most technologically advanced countries in the world. Velis IT is a company supported by PAIiIZ.

The official ceremony of signing the agreement between the partners took place on 21 April at the Trade and Investment Promotion Section of the Polish Embassy in Tokyo. Establishing cooperation with Japanese partner is the culmination moment of several months of efforts of Velis IT, supported by PAIiIZ. In February 2015, Velis IT took part in a PAIiIZ business mission to Japan headed by the president of Poland.

“We are accustomed to the fact that innovative systems and technologies are coming to Poland from foreign markets. It's time to reverse the trend. This time, those are Polish solutions which will support the Japanese real estate sector, which is one of the largest in the world” the representatives of the company commented.

Investments worth billion in the Katowice SEZ
Katowice Special Economic Zone plans to issue 25 business permits in 2016. Talks are being currently held, may result in investments worth jointly even PLN 1bn. together they can also generate even 1,500 new jobs.

Since the beginning of the year, the zone has already issued 5 permits (including 2 for Polish companies) with a total value of PLN 140m. Due to all of them 240 new jobs will be created and 70 will be maintained. This year's investments include projects of Italian investor operating in engineering industry Sest Luve Poland as well as Polish producer of plastic Agrotex. (KSEE)

Acquisition and Investment Forum
On 12 May, Warsaw will host M&A Worldwide Acquisition and Investment Forum. The event will be arranged under PAIiIZ patronage and is a part of Warsaw meeting of M&A Worldwide Network.

Representatives of investment banks from 40 countries gathered in M&A Worldwide Network, as well as Polish CEO of the top Polish companies will gather in Warsaw to discuss global trends in margins and acquisitions as well as to talk about trans-border transactions.

2nd Export Forum in Kraków
BPCC and PAIiIZ, which that took the patronage over the event, invite Polish companies to join 2nd Export Forum in Kraków. The event is dedicated to exporters and producers interested in selling to UK.

Poland’s exporters had a record year in terms of sales to the UK; the value of Polish goods exported in 2015 to Britain - Poland’s second-largest market - was over £8.3 billion. BPCC members will explained to Polish exporters in very specific seminar sessions how to go about selling to the UK in practical terms. With presentations about logistics, translation, trade finance, certification and contractual issues, Polish exporters could learn directly from experienced practitioners all they need to know to successfully enter the UK market.

The Forum will be held on 19 May in Novotel Novotel Kraków Centrum, ul. Ko¶ciuszki 5.

NaviGate - The Maritime Expo
Trade, Investment Promotion Section of the Polish Embassy in Helsinki invites all companies operating in Poland to take part in NaviGate - The Maritime Expo in Turku, Finland. The event will be held between 18 and 19 May, 2016.

The Expo is dedicated to R&D, education, science, ICT, new technologies, energy and machinery sectors. During the event at Turku Fair and Congress Centre, a Polish national strand will be arranged. Participants will be also able to use the conference room where “Let`s create a Polish - Finnish Maritime business bridge" workshop will be arranged.

All companies interested in the Expo are asked to contact helsinki@trade.gov.pl.

AutoEvent 2016 in Zawiercie
The twelfth edition of the largest and most important conference for the automotive industry AutoEvent 2016 will be held this year from 14 to 16 June in Zawiercie. The event is held under the patronage of PAIiIZ.

The two-day event attracts an average of 250 participants from sectors such as car manufacturing, parts and components, materials and prefabricated elements, machinery, equipment and tools, robotics and automation, logistics, software for industrial applications and business financing.

AutoEvent is the place to go for important contacts and contracts, as confirmed by the opinions of participants and the presence of esteemed guests, such as the managers of Poland’s largest vehicle factories, representatives from purchase departments, major manufacturers of parts and components, and service providers.

International Forum of Home Appliances
On May 11-12, 2016 representatives of manufacturers, distributors and experts of home appliances will meet at IV International Forum of Home Appliance Manufacturers and Suppliers in Europe, an annual conference dedicated to the future of this sector in Poland and worldwide.

This year, for the second time, the event will be organized in cooperation with the ŁódĽ Special Economic Zone, that supports development of this industry in Poland.

DID YOU KNOW...?

Measuring the space
Do you know that high engineered measuring devices used is space are invented and manufactured in Ożarów, near Warsaw?

Infrared detectors designed by Polish company Vigo System are used at Curiosity Mars rover. The company has become an official supplier for NASA. Measuring instruments of Vigo Systems are also used by the European Space Agency and the Russian Roskosomos. The technology has Polish origins and has been developed with the support of the scientist of the Military University of Technology in Warsaw. Exactly a year ago, Vigo Systems and MUT opened a MBE Laboratory to develop their projects. (Vigo Systems)
