The 12 rising stars of BSS sector
Business Services Sector has been developing in Poland for over a decade. At the beginning, this types of investments were located mainly in big metropolitan areas such Kraków, Warszawa or Wrocław. These days, smaller cities are getting more significant, says the „Location of BSS sector in Poland. 12 rising stars of business”, report. The survey has been prepared by PAIiIZ, Colliers International and Advisory Group TEST Human Resources.

2015 was a next year marked by dynamic, two-digit growth of business services sector in Poland. Apart from the factors essential for the sector to grow, such as access to qualified staff or proper office space, Poland has a meaningful competitive advantage - a number of potential BSS investments localizations.

Centers of business services are operating in 27 cities all over the country. 90% of people in the sector are hired by the companies stationing in the biggest cities: Warsaw, Cracow, Wrocław, Trójmiasto, Poznań, ¦l±sk Metropolitan Area, ŁódĽ and Bydgoszcz/Toruń.

Poland - Thailand business forum in PAIiIZ
Together with Economic Adviser of Embassy of Thailand, Polish Information and Investment Agency (PAIiIZ) hosted Thai food sector companies. On this occasion, a B2B session has been organized in Agency’s headquarters. It has been preceded by presenting investment possibilities for Thailand.


For Poland, Thailand is not only an attractive touristic direction, but also an important trade and investment partner. The whole meeting was dedicated to setting the cooperation between both countries entrepreneurs, presenting Polish economy opportunities, especially in the food sector.

Among the most attractive sectors, PAIiIZ experts have pointed food, automotive, petrol, plastic, aviation, IT and agricultural machines sectors. Thai capital is already present in Poland. It is represented among others by Indorama Ventures, Lucky Union Food or S. Khankaen.  Poland also realizes its investment projects thru Asian partners such as Jatomi Fitness or Mercator Medical.

Poland has still a lot to do in a matter of Polish-Thai cooperation. For years now, the trade balance is on debt for Poland. For the moment, deficit sums to €600 m. Total trade is around €872 m. (PAIiIZ)

INVESTMENTS IN POLAND

World’s biggest factory of 3D procucts in Bielany Wrocaławskie
This year, in Bielany Wrocławskie, Belgian company, worldwide 3D print leader, Materialise will build its factory. This will be one of the biggest production centres of SLS (Selective Laser Sintering) products.

The factory should be operational in May 2017. As part of  Bielany Wrocławskie investment, Materialise will also build R&D center which will provide jobs for specialized engineers and programmers. At the first stage of investment, it will hire around 50 people.

Total budget for this investment equals several dozen pln. Materialise produces for medical, automotive, electric, household and aviation sectors. The company creates: the models of newborn hearts, which are in need of a surgery. They have also printed the Tutenchamon mummy or a chandelier for Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.

3rd HR in Business Services Centers and IT conference
On 17-19 October 2015 in Kraków, the third HR in Business Services Centers and IT conference will take place.

The conference programme contains speeches, workshops, case studies. Apart from the vast range of matters related to recruitment area, HR analytics, process automatization or building engagement, HR law issues will also be raised.

Polish business on global markets
On 11October 2016 in Kopernik Science Center in Warsaw, the Warsaw Global Business Forum will take place. Patronage is held by PAIiIZ.

During the meeting participants will discuss the possibilities that has been opened for Polish companies globally.

They will also share their experiences and knowledge about developing local business on foreign markets.

Pila City companies economic mission
On 20 October 2016, in the Trade and Investment Department of Polish Consulate in Cologne, the City of Piła economic potential will be presented. Northern Wielkopolska where Piła is located is said to be one of the fastest growing province of Poland. Among prospective business areas, electronics, polygraphy, tourism, automotive and services sectors have to be mentioned.

Speakers will present the legal and formal issues related to starting a entrepreneurship in Piła, available business incentives, incentives for investors and real estate prepared for investments. Also a business networking session between Polish and German companies is planned.

Polish automotive sector export record
In June, automotive industry sector’s export valued over €2.14 bn. It is 1/5 more (120,23 % dynamics) than the equal period of 2015. Thanks to this growth, the new record has been set. It is higher than the last one from April 2016 by €3m , counted Automotive Supplyers.

According to Automotive Supplyers, growths in foreign sales of Polish automotive products are due to high export dynamics in EU countries. In June, the top ten biggest outlet markets noted growths. The highest has been noted in Spain. It has been doubled with 204.19%. Germany, the most important trade partner for Poland noted 28,81% of exports of the  automotive sector. Other sale markets were: Italy (9.29%) and Czech Republic (8.32%).

Among the most export-sold good, dominate the following: parts and accessories, cars, transport cars and diesel engines. These three groups of products include 83,38% of the whole sector export. It is worth saying, that an export of parts and accessories has gained a level of never seen before €961.9 m. It is 17.34% more than a year ago. (PAIiIZ/Automotive Supplyers)

Entertainment and media sector grow in strength
PWC looked at media and entertainment sector in Poland and compared its development and trends with worldwide situation.

From all the sectors analyzed in this research, Poland has the biggest growth in online advertising sector, which in four years will increase its value by 70% to gain $1,2 bn. Online advertising has a similar growth all over the world. We can also notice, especially in Poland, a big progress in video games industry. It will grow by 35% in four years. Today, in Poland, this segment is worth $425m. In 2020, as analytics estimate, its potential will reach $573m. Global development tempo of gaming industry is 2 pp lower (current value is $71 bn). PWC also attempted to define few key trends for the media and entertainment market, which is currently undergoing significant changes, thanks to the new technology development. “Today’s media and entertainment market is characterized by the race between tech companies, striving to deliver the hybrid content and traditional publishers, which are trying to transfer into hybrid technology suppliers”, underline the authors. Experts also claim that the driving force of the sector will be the consumers under 35.

It is said, that public opinion expects more and more engaging content, which will change them from typical users into fans or even will allow to create some kind of society of shared ideas. What’s interesting, consumers will still search for content located in one, integrated place. It seems that traditional channels such as television or press are not yet leaving.
