Polish-Indonesian Economic Forum
September 4th, undersecretary of state in Ministry of Economy Ms Ilona Anotniszyn - Klik and PAIiIZ's president  S³awomir Majman participated in Polish-Indonesian Economic Forum. The event took place in Hyatt Hotel, Warsaw.

The main objective of the meeting was to strengthen Polish-Indonesian economic cooperation. Indonesia was represented by Mr Himawan Hariyoga - the deputy chairman of investment promotion in the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM).

The meeting was a good opportunity to consolidate the positive picture of Poland as a trustworthy business partner. Polish entrepreneurs could find business partners mostly in such sectors as: infrastructure, mining, tourism and renewable energy in green technology sector.

The forum took place during a one day visit of Mr Sysila Bambanga Yudhoyona - the president of Republic of Indonesia in Warsaw.

The conference was organized thanks to cooperation between PAIiIZ and Indonesian Embassy in Warsaw.

17th International Maritime Exhibition - BALTEXPO 2013
The 17th International Maritime Exhibition - BALTEXPO 2013 started. Mr S³awomir Majman, president of PAIiIZ, participated in the opening ceremony in the AMBEREXPO Exhibition and Convention Centre in Gdańsk.

The maritime sector went through different stages, from the euphory to rumours of its near fall - said Mr Majman about the maritime industry. Today our shipyards have a full order schedule for the next 14 months. I strongly believe that this place, this meeting will be a good opportunity to start a serious discussion about cooperation - he added.

The Polish-Norwegian Maritime Business Forum also took place during the Baltexpo. The participants discussed investments, trade, potential growth and areas of possible cooperation.

BALTEXPO is the biggest and the most prestigious exhibition of maritime sector in Central East Europe. Event was organized under the auspices of PAIiIZ. (PAIiIZ)

Chinese delegation in PAIiIZ
Exchange of information about Poland and China water management system was the main point of the meeting that took place in PAIiIZ on September 30th.

The meeting was participated by representatives of the Ministry of Water Resources of the People's Republic of China, Polish experts from the National Water Management Authority and employees from the PAIiIZ Polish-Chinese Cooperation Centre.

The leader of Chinese delegation was Ms Liu Xiuhua, deputy chairman of Department of Planning and Programming in the Ministry of Water Resources. The main topic of the meeting was to exchange the experience and information related with water management in both countries. Logistic and organization issues and financial aspects of a water system management were also raised.

Polish and Chinese side also discussed condition of economy in Poland. Both sides declared interest in continuing cooperation in the future. (PAIiIZ)

INVESTMENTS IN POLAND

First international school in £ód¼
British International School of the University of £ód¼ - the first international school in £ód¼ was opened on September 4th.

British International School of the University of £ód¼ is the first common project of the University of £ód¼ and £ód¼ Special Economic Zone. Thanks to it, children of foreign entrepreneurs and investors will have access to the top level education. It’s the only such educational institution in the £ódzkie Voivodship. Thanks to establishing of the British International School city of £ód¼ whole region will have another, very important institution that will help and attract foreign investors. The international school for investors children is one of the key factors of the decision about the location of new investment. (SSE £ód¼)

New investments in Wa³brzych Special Economic Zone Invest-Park
August 30th 2013, a new economic activity permits were given to Lowara Vogel Polska and ID Technology Poland companies in Wa³brzych Special Economic Zone Invest-Park.

Lowara Vogel Polska LLC will be located in Strzelin Economic Subzone. It will be producing pumps, superchargers and electric engines. The total amount of investment is 18 million PLN. The company will also hire 10 new employees.

ID Technology Poland LLC will be located in Wroc³aw Economic Subzone. The company will be producing special adhesive labels and will convert materials. The total amount of investment will be at least 3 million PLN and the company plans to hire 10 new employees. (WSSE Invest-Park)

Building of a new "£ucznik" weapon factory in Radom
One of the biggest reinforcement investments, worth 100 million PLN - the building of a new abode of weapon factory - will be shortly finished. The investment is going to be finished in the beginning of a next year.

The "£ucznik" weapon factory, one of the most modern weapon factories in Europe, is emerging on the territory of Radom economic subzone of Tarnobrzeg Special Economic Zone.

The permit for the investment was issued on October 10th 2012. Pace and good work organization caused an acceleration of the investment. Technology transfer between old and new factory will be finished by the end of June 2014. (ARP)

Newly expanded Unilever factory In Bydgoszcz officially opened
September 3rd, new Unilever factory was opened in Bydgoszcz. The investment costed 32 million euro.

The company decided to expand their factory in July 2011. Today factory is already working - next to 10 new production lines (6 new manufacturing hubs) more than 120 people have been hired. Thanks to the new investment, the factory doubled its production. Most of it is exported - mostly to 29 countries in Europe and worldwide (Polish market absorbs 10% of total production). Several brands are made here including: Dove, Timotei, Lux, Clear and Vaseline.

Factory in Bydgoszcz was the first Unilever investment in Poland. Today it is the only company factory that specializes in detergents production. (UM Bydgoszcz)

We invite you for the Commodities Fair in China
PAIiIZ invites Polish entrepreneurs for China Yiwu International Commodities Fair, which will take place from 21st to 25th October in China.

It is going to be 19th edition of International Commodities Fair, which is dedicated to such sectors as: jewelery, electronics, clothing, ceramic, services and domestic products.

Companies that are interested in participating in the Fair will receive special VIP-Package from organizers. The Package consist: transport from Yiwu, Hangzhou or Shanghai airports in before and after the Fair, 3 nights in five star hotel with breakfast included, attendance in the events organized during the Fair and in the B2B meeting (which will take place on October 22nd), tickets, personal translator and guide for every company and a special dinner on the first day of the Fair. BPOland Potential and Prospects
The press conference at the PAIiIZ Information Center is planned for Monday, September 16th. The main object of the event is to present the condition and growth perspectives of BPO sector in Poland.

The BPO sector is one of the most dynamic branches in Poland. It employs 110 thousand people. During the conference participants will try to figure out if the BPO sector has a chance for a fast grow in Poland in the future, what are its actual challenges and trends that appear in this sector nowadays.

The participants will familiarize themselves with opinions of the companies and foreign investors that are currently operating in the sector (mostly real estate and HR).

3rd edition of China Expo Poland
From 12th to 14th September 2013, The China Expo Poland will take place at MT Polska Trade Fair and Congress Center in Warsaw. PAIiIZ extended the patronage over this event.

China Expo Poland is the biggest expo event in Poland which is fully dedicated to Polish - Chinese business cooperation. During the expo Polish entrepreneurs will have a unique chance to acquire many valuable contacts with Chinese investors and companies. Chinese entrepreneurs will be looking for trade partners and will present wide offer of their products. During 3 days of expo participants will have a chance to join to the numerous conferences and learn how to cooperate effectively with foreign investors.

Baltic Pearls - Business Pearls
Baltic Pearls - Business Pearls is the next conference from „Prospects in Poland” series will take place on October 12th in Sofitel Grand Hotel in Sopot.

During the meeting the main topics will be the economic growth of Pomerania region and the Airpot City - the conception of linking airport with office district, warehouse and commercial areas. 5th Business Forum of Baltic and Eastern Markets
Warmia and Mazury Regional Development Agency invites for 5th Business Forum of Baltic and Eastern Markets, which will take place on October 4th 2013 in Lidzbark Warminski.

The main topics of the event will be partnership, cooperation and integration for better economic growth.

Business Forum is becoming one of the most important international economic events in Eastern Poland. 200 representatives of business, public administration and diplomacy arrive annually for this event.

Open to Scandinavia
The provincial government of Warmia-Mazury region prepares for the next stage of promotional campaign in Scandinavia. Its’ goal is to attract business partners to the region. The information campaign for companies from Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark will start in Autumn.

From 9 to 12 September the Scandinavian economic mission will visit Warmia-Mazury region thanks to the provincial government invitation. 20 entrepreneurs from Sweden and Finland and 10 journalists from Scandinavian media will travel through the region and will discuss about the future economic cooperation between the region and Scandinavia. On this occasion, on September 10th the provincial government will present region economic potential during “Open to Scandinavia” event in Sand Valley Golf&Country Club in Pas³źk.

ANALYSES AND REPORTS

Optimistic industry data
According to the newest data gathered by Markit company on behalf of HSBC, the condition in Polish industrial sector improved comparing to the prior month. In August PMI Index rose to 52,6 points from 51,1 points in July. It’s the highest growth reading since July 2011.

The PMI Index rised because of the improvement of three main components: new orders, production and employment. The number of new orders in export reached the highest level since April 2011. Analysts emphasize the speed of production growth, which was the fastest since May 2011. Furthermore, the number of available workplace in the sector rose for a first time since 2012.

Improvement of so-called "hard economic data" such as: growth of industrial production and retail sales is a clear sign that Polish economy starts to accelerate. (markiteconomics.com)

DID YOU KNOW...?

International Festival of Comics and Games - £ód¼ 2013
International Festival of Comics and Games takes place every October in £ód¼. This is the biggest event of this kind in Poland and Central East Europe. It welcomes several thousands of participants from country and abroad every year.

Besides meeting with cartoonists, screenwriters and publishers who come to £ód¼ from all continents the world participants can take part in many contests such as: short comics contest, cartoon Miss of Festival contest etc. The organizers emphasize the role of education. Every year they organize a competition for pupils from elementary schools, junior high and high schools. The winner is announced on the first day of the Festival.

During the Festival a short comics contest is organized. Every year about a hundred works from around the world take part in it.

Festival takes place in £ód¼ since 1991. The organizers are Contur Creators Association and £ód¼ House of Culture. Thanks to the festival and a big comic group in the city, £ód¼ is considered as “polish capital of comics”.
