Hunan province visits Mazowsze
Authorities of the Hunan province in China and local companies came to Poland to discuss the perspective of future cooperation between the province and Poland within the New Silk Road project. On 14 March, the B2B talks were held with Polish counterparts. Senger: Now we are experiencing the momentum of Chinese investment to Poland

'Polish - Chinese relations are excellent. Poland and China are now linked by comprehensive strategic partnership', said Counsellor at Embassy of the PRC in Poland, Ms. Liu Lijuan. Recently, investment is one of the most dynamically developed area of bilateral cooperation. 'Now we are experiencing the momentum of Chinese investment to Poland. Poland is the biggest receivers of investment from China in the V4 Group and the eight in the European Union', vice-president Senger said. Mr Senger also mentioned that local authorities of the Hunan province are interested in locating a production park in Mazowsze province of Poland. Mongolia attracts Polish FDI
'We will support Polish companies interested in doing business in Mongolia' - said president of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency, Tomasz Pisula while opening the Polish Mongolian Economic Seminar that was arranged by Polish Investment and Trade Agency.

Poland is considered as one of the main economic partners of Mongolia in the European Union. To strengthen the economic ties between the two states, a Polish-Mongolian Parliamentary Group has been created. 'The parliamentary cooperation plays a very important role. It links the countries', explained Mr Damba-Ochir Dorjdamba, the chairman of the Parliamentary Group.

Mining is the strategic sectors of the Mongolian economy and the main area of the activity of foreign companies. 73% of direct foreign investments are located in the mining sector.

INVESTMENTS IN POLAND

Get Fresh Cosmetics reinvests while Sil-Pro enters to WMSEZ
Get Fresh Cosmetics is planning to increase the production capacity in its factory in Bartoszyce subzone of the Warmia-Mazury SEZ. The zone has also acquired a new investor, Sil-Pro Warszawa.

Under the investment, Polish company, Get Fresh will equip the factory in three modern production lines and other machines to produce cosmetic and candles. The company will also create 50 additional new jobs. The value of the reinvestment will reach PLN 500,000. Get Fresh products are exported to 45 foreign markets as Bomb Cosmetics.


Get Fresh gets permit to reinvest in WMSEZ

The second company that received a business permit by Warmia-Mazury SEZ is Sil-Pro Warszawa. The company will create the most modern silicate blocks’ factory in Poland, in Pomiechówek subzone. This is the second production site of Sil-Pro Warszawa in Poland. The first one has been operating since 2009 near Oława in Dolny Śląsk. (WMSEZ)

Gates invests PLN125m in Legnica SEZ
Gates Polska will invest additional PLN125m and create 50 new jobs to develop the business in Legnica Special Economic Zone.

Gates Polska will build a production site for automotive hydraulic couplings. The company has been present in Legnica SEZ for sixteen years. Since then, it has invested PLN 250m within the zone. With the employment reaching 500 people, Gates Polska is also one of the biggest employees in Legnica SEZ. (LSSE)

CEE Innovators Summit
The CEE Innovators Summit is an international conference to be held on 27-28 March 2017 in Warsaw. The congress will provide an opportunity to examine the practical dimension of innovation and to discuss cooperation in this part of Europe. During the CEE Innovators Summit, a Warsaw Declaration on innovation in our region will be signed, and a report on the venture capital market in the CEE region will be presented.

The conference is divided into three thematic blocks: policy, the economy, and regional challenges. A participation of prime ministers of the Visegrad Group countries is expected in the first part of the Summit. Special guest of the second part of the conference will be Professor Mariana Mazzucato, author of The Entrepreneurial State. We will discuss why the State should play an active role in the economy and why this is important in terms of economic innovation. Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Development and Finance, Mateusz Morawiecki, will join the discussion. The third part of the congress will focus on challenges for Central and Eastern Europe - digitising administration, financing innovation, cyber security, innovation in education, mobility and transport, health, ecology and others.

The organisers invite start-ups, non-governmental organisations involved in innovation in the V4 countries, heads of R&D departments in large companies and representatives of the public administration in the region.

The CEE Innovators Summit is organised by the Polish Development Fund and the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development. Entry to the conference is free of charge, solely at the invitation of the organisers.

Doing Business in Portugal and Brazil
Polish-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce (PPCC) together with the Honorary Consulate of Brazil in Kraków invite you to join 'Doing Business in Portugal and Brazil' meeting that will be hold in Kraków University of Economics (ul. Rakowiecka 27, Kraków), on 28 March, 2017.

All companies operating in Małopolska interested in export and investment in Brazil and Portugal are welcome to join the meeting. Global Industry Summit 2017
Global Industry Summit is a meeting of the representatives of automotive and aviation sectors, business environment institutions and public administration. The event is held under the patronage of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency.

Participants of the two-day conference will discuss issues related to economic policy, exports support, education, industry 4.0, robotics, high-tech solutions for Industry, the labour market, electromobility, quality management and Lean Manufacturing.

The 4th Automotive CEE Day
The fourth purchasing meeting Automotive CEE Day will take place on 23-24 March 2017 in Opole (Poland). The objective of the meeting is the opportunity to establish first contact between purchasing departments of car manufacturers, tier 1 suppliers and other potential suppliers.

Gdańsk with plans to be a CEE logistic hub
Gdańsk soon will become an important CEE logistics chain for the automotive industry. To achieve the goal, the Port of Gdańsk has signed a three-year agreement with Nissan. The company will ship its cars destined for the Central Easter Europe via the port. In January, the Port of Gdańsk has also introduced a navigation service for Hyundai. Moreover, Gdańsk has recently increased its role as centre of fish distribution.

Port of Gdańsk will invest in a new logistics solution to ship even 100,000 cars transported between Central and Eastern Europe, Western Europe and other parts of the world. One of the companies that will benefit from the development of the port is Nissan, which has decided to move the entire distribution of their cars for Central and Eastern Europe to Gdańsk. Since recently, the Port of Gdańsk held the delivery of Nissan cars destined for the Lithuanian, Latvian and Ukrainian and partly to Poland. The rest of cars to Poland as well as those for the Czech Republic and Slovakia went through Amsterdam. Cars made in Japan, Spain and the UK will be now shipped to the Port of Gdańsk once a week.

Gdańsk also increases its role in global supply chains of fish. According to Invest in Pomerania, an international transport company Samskip has just opened a logistics office in the city to manage the sea freight, customs clearance and provide cargo storage of fish products, there. Suwałki SSE cooperates with Grodnoinvest
Suwałki Special Economic Zone will establish cooperation with Belarus Grodnoinvest Free Zone.

Both zones declared the will to cooperate in investment, arrange trade events and establish projects dedicated to foreign markets. The Grodnoinvest Free Zone has been established in 2002 to operate for 30 next years. According to the zone data, it has already attracted $940m of foreign capital from 35 countries. 80 resident enterprises have been registered in the zone. They represent such sectors as: wood, machinery, metal, light production, food, chemical and petrochemical industry. (Suwałki SEZ/Grodnoinvest)

Łódź SEZ builds new warehouse for tenants
Łódź Special Economic Zone is implementing its own investment. It is building a production and warehouse facility for companies operating within the ŁSEZ.

The object will be built on the 32-hectare plot, close to Stokowska street, in Łódź SEZ. The building will be divided to 8 separate segments, covering 1,500m2, each.

Polish Investment and Trade Agency observes a growing trend among investors of interest in readymade medium-size (up to 5,000m2) and big-size (over 10,000m2) warehouse facilities.
