Polish Investment and Trade Agency is looking for experts
The Polish Investment and Trade Agency is recruiting experts to its Foreign Trade Offices (ZBH - Zagraniczne Biura Handlowe). They will support Polish exporters and encourage new investors in the Middle East, North and South Americas and Asia to enter Poland.

Foreign Trade Offices represent the Polish Investment and Trade Agency abroad. ‘Six of them have already started to operate in Ho Chi Minh City, Singapore, Tehran, Shanghai, Nairobi and San Francisco’, says Wojciech Fedko, a Member of Polish Investment and Trade Agency Board responsible for exports support. ‘Next offices in Toronto, Frankfurt, Budapest, Milan, London and Mexico are waiting to be open', he adds. Ultimately, there will be 70 Agency’s offices abroad.

The Agency is offering job for two types of professionals: managers and experts. Both of them will be responsible for organizing economic events promoting Poland, supporting Polish companies interested in investment and exports, as well as building and maintaining relationships with business in particular markets. PAIiIZ transforms into the Polish Investment and Trade Agency
On Friday, 3rd February, Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency has changed its official name to the Polish Investment and Trade Agency. Expanding its objectives, the new Agency will focus on two main issues: servicing investors in Poland and supporting Polish companies in global expansion.

‘Polish Investment and Trade Agency is the first institution in Poland offering such complex support for Polish entrepreneurs operating abroad’, said president Tomasz Pisula. ‘Since now on, the Polish Investment and Trade Agency will be able to provide both types of its clients - foreign investors and Polish companies - with significantly wider range of business assistance’, he added.

‘We are creating a comprehensive offer to support Polish exports. Introduction of Foreign Trade Offices is one of the most crucial elements of the Agency’s new strategy, Wojciech Fedko, deputy president of Polish Investment and Trade Agency responsible for exports support explained. “The offices will be operating in the countries where Polish companies have been already active as well as in the places with the biggest business opportunities for entrepreneurs from Poland.

‘Servicing investment project in Poland remains one of the strategic activities of the Agency. We are very experienced in that area’, declared Krzysztof Senger, the Agency member of the Board responsible for investment. The team of investment experts that have supported the recent big FDI projects in Poland of Volkswagen, Daimler or LG Chem is waiting for new investors”.

‘Not only does the Agency change its name and the responsibilities, but it also changes the way it works’, Mr Pisula announced. ‘Now, the Polish Investment and Trade Agency will be much more oriented on pro-business goals. That means more effective service for our clients’, he added.

INVESTMENTS IN POLAND

IAC enters Opole
International Automotive Components (IAC) has chosen Opole to build a factory of car cockpits there. The estimated value of the investment reaches $20 m. On 7 September, the ground-breaking ceremony has been held. It gathered representatives of the investors and local authorities. Krzysztof Senger, the Member of the Board of Polish Investment and Trade Agency that supported the investment, also joined the event.

The company’s new facility in Opole will be the 27th manufacturing centre in Europe. A premium, hand-made elements of car cockpits will be produced there by 550 new employees. Also several different car parts can be manufactured in Opole, supporting the production processes in other plants owned by the company located in the distance of 100-450 km from Opole. Flex expands the business in Pomerania
One of the biggest foreign investors and employers in Pomerania, Flex is expanding the production facility in Tczew. Several hundred of new employees will find new jobs in the company’s plant.

Global producer of innovative solutions for industry, FLEX has been developing the company in Tczew since 2000. The factory was expended several times and the employment has grown from 500 to 2000 workers. Due to FLEX activity, several thousand new jobs has been also created in the company’s subcontractors. The investor is engaged in CSR programmes and collaboration with local partners in developing vocational training there.

The 4th Automotive CEE Day
The fourth edition of purchasing meeting Automotive CEE Day will take place on 23-24 March 2017 in Opole (Poland). The objective of the meeting is to establish first contact between car manufacturers’ purchasing departments, tier 1 suppliers and potential suppliers.

Lubaczów Industrial Park - Gateway to the East
Polish Investment and Trade Agency and the City of Lubaczów invite all to join the business conference entitled ‘Lubaczów Industrial Park - Gateway to the East’. The event will take place on 2 March 2017 in the Municipal Culture Centre (Miejski Dom Kultury) in Lubaczów.

FutureTech Congress

Global Industry Summit 2017
Global Industry Summit is a meeting of the representatives of automotive and aviation sectors, business environment institutions and public administration.

Participants of the two-day conference will discuss issues related to economic policy, exports support, education, industry 4.0, robotics, high-tech solutions for Industry, the labour market, electromobility, quality management and Lean Manufacturing.

The Polish-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce (PPCC) and local Partner - the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce in São Paulo (POR) organise the trade mission to São Paulo.

Season for the Polish automotive industry
According to the 'Automotive Industry' report by KPMG and PZPM (The Polish Automotive Industry Association), 2016 was successful for the Polish automotive sector. The production of automotive plants located in Poland increased, while the number of vehicles registered in Poland achieved record results.

KPMG and PZPM estimate that in 2016, Polish plants produced 681,800 vehicles, including over 554,000 passenger cars, 122,000 commercial and light commercial vehicles and more than 5,240 buses (increase of 5.5% y / y). In total, car production increased by 3.7% y / y, while the value of the sold production of the Polish automotive industry reached PLN 138.5 bn (the increase by 11.2% compared to 2015).

‘Excellent quality of the components produced in Poland as well as good economic results of the entire sector’ is what attract foreign automotive companies to our country’, comments deputy president of Polish Investment and Trade Agency, Krzysztof Senger. As hi explains, last fall was very effective for automotive investments in Poland. Toyota started the process of extending of its Polish plants, VW opened Crafter factory in Września and Mercedes decided to produce engines in Jawor. Also new Asian companies have entered Poland last year. Those are Mabuchi and Korean LG Chem, which is to develop electromobility technology in the country. ‘Currently, the Polish Investment and Trade Agency is working on 33 automotive projects, so we can expect, that 2017 will also be successful for the industry’, Krzysztof Senger predicts. New chapter for Polish SEZ
‘Polish Special Economic Zones are entering a new era. Their core business will be maintained, however their responsibilities will grow’, said Krzysztof Senger, Polish Investment and Trade Agency deputy president responsible for investment, who visited Łódź SEZ.

‘We are glad that Polish Investment and Trade Agency will continue to provide support for investors, said Marek Michalik, president of the Łódź Special Economic Zone during the meeting. Mr Michalik presented the zone’s investment >>wish list<< to Krzysztof Senger. ‘We would like to win a significant investor from the automotive industry, and the next one representing the business process outsourcing’, Michalik added. ‘Usually, foreign investor go to Polish Investment and Trade Agency at first, and then contact the zone. Therefore, the cooperation is essential for us’, he argued.
