20 Polish companies fighting for contracts in India

More than 20 companies and Polish government delegation headed by deputy prime minister Piotr Gliński and deputy minister of development Tadeusz Kościński are visiting India. Together with the PAIiIZ deputy president Krzysztof Senger, they all encourage Indian business to cooperate with Poland, during Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2017. Poland is one of the strategic partners of this prestigious event. At a venue, the country’s economic potential is promoted there in the Polish Pavilion.

For Polish companies, India is not a new market, especially when it comes to investments. This is the third after the US and Canada non-European country, in which Polish business invests the most. According to the latest data of the National Bank of Poland, the total value of Polish foreign direct investment in India reaches $235m. The biggest investors of Polish origin in India include: TZMO Group S.A. (Toruńskie Zakłady Materiałów Opatrunkowych) that is the owner of the award-winning for CSR activities Bella India, or pharmaceutical giant Bioton. Polish companies also look for new investment opportunities with the reforms including the development of Make in India progamme promoting the inflow of investment to India that have been provided by prime minister Narendra Modi. In several sectors, including defense, banking and construction, Modi introduces facilitations for business activity. Since Autumn 2014, when the programme was launched, India recorded a 39% increase in foreign direct investment. Polish exporters may also benefit from the ongoing economic revival and growing domestic demand, and as consequence  improve the trader balance with India which in case of Poland is in deficit.
