WNS (Holdings) Ltd. opens a service centre in Gdynia. 500 jobs will be created01.08.2012One of the key Indian business services providers, WNS Holding, opens a service centre in Gdynia. It is another investment on Tri-City BPO/SSC market this year.Holding WNS, a company listed on the New York Stock Exchange, is a world leader in providing business services. The company is proud of its 500 global corporation clients to whom it delivers financial and accounting services, carries out research and business analyses, runs customer service centres and offers a whole range of other services that are individually adjusted to the branch’s needs. The company acquires clients from such industries as tourism, insurance, finance and retail sales.
WNS employs over 25 thousand specialists working in 29 centres all around the world. The centre in Gdynia will be the second project carried out by the holding in Central and Eastern Europe (after Bucharest). Apart from Romania, the company has its offices in India, Sri Lanka, Costa Rica, the UK, the US, South Africa and the Philippines. WNS has been recently very active on the American market. The growing demand for the services provided by the holding has already resulted in opening a new centre in South Carolina and the acquisition of a South African company that offers outsourcing services.
What we are witnessing now is the investors’ growing interest in Tri-City, which is being perceived as a perfect location for service centres. In January OIE Support opened its office here and it already employs 120 people. In March Bayer announced setting its shared service centre in Tri-City. In September Metsa Group, a Finish company, will move in to its new office – says Lukasz Zelewski, President of the Board of the Pomeranian Development Agency, which coordinates the initiative Invest in Pomerania.
WNS has chosen one of the biggest business parks in Tri-City for the location of its office. It is Luzycka Office Park in Gdynia.
WNS is a dynamic partner that invited us to cooperate on a short-time search for highly efficient modern office space that the company could take over gradually adjusting its size to the intended employment. Gdynia offered the space that met all the client’s expectations. WNS project is another sign that Tri-City is becoming one of the most significant BPO/SSC centres in Poland. The good news for other companies considering moving to Tri-City is the fact that the office vacancy rate rose and in the second quarter of 2012 amounted to 9,1% of the total supply of 370 000 sq. m. – says Magdalena Renska, Director of John Lang LaSalle branch in Gdansk.
One of the key factors that influenced the choice of Tri-City as the WNS investment location was the availability of skilled workers on the local market. What distinguishes Tri-City is the high availability of workers that speak foreign languages, including the niche ones such as Nordic languages. Every year around 20 thousand graduates enter the labor market, which is a good sign for the future - comments on the project Malgorzata Jasinska, Director for Corporate Clients CEE in the HR company Hays – ABSL strategic partner.
