Foreign investors assess Poland’s investment climate as good!

03.11.2011

Foreign investors like Poland’s high internal demand, easy access to well-educated staff and the country’s political stability - shows the latest PAIiIZ report on climate for business in Poland. The overall rating of Poland’s investment attractiveness this year is the highest since the survey has been conducted.

Every year PAIiIZ asks foreign investors active in Poland how they see the the country’s investment conditions. This year we publish the 5th edition of the survey in which 6 out of 10 surveyed companies assessed Poland's investment climate as very good or good. The average rating this year is 3.59 and is the highest since the beginning of 2007 when the first survey was conducted. The most appreciated factor was the size of the market (4.04) and access to a pool of highly-skilled people from which to choose workforce (3.88) – the factor was rated at good or very good by twice the number of people who assessed it this way in 2007. The next most highly assessed aspect of the climate for business is the country’s political stability – 3.84. Almost ¾ of the surveyed perceive the situation as good or very good while 5 years ago this aspect was one of the weakest elements of the overall climate. Within the last 5 years assessment of Poland's political stability rose by 1.6 i.e. the biggest increase from among all the assessed factors.Taxes and other fiscal charges were assessed at good or very good by every 4th surveyed i.e. 2 times more than last year.

he worst assessed factor is road infrastructure. Yet it is worth emphasising that the last 5 years saw an improvement in the assessment of the aspect from 1.6 in 2007 to 2.3 this year. The second worst assessed aspect are law regulations which were positively assessed only by every 5th surveyed company (21%). Over half of the surveyed was positive about the cooperation with local administration.

overall climate for business in Poland in 2011 was assessed as good while it was perceived as satisfactory last year. (PAIiIZ)
