Due to the tragedy that has shaken whole Polish nation, the European Economic Congress 2010 (EEC) will be organized on a different date.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Due to the tragedy that has shaken whole Polish nation, the European Economic Congress 2010 (EEC) will be organized on a different date. Today (10.04.2010) the President of Poland, his wife and representatives of Polish parliament and highest authorities died in a plane crash.

The immensity of the tragedy, from human and Poland's point of view, grief and mourning after the death of such outstanding people important for our country caused the organizers of the European Economic Congress to take decision to postpone the event.

The European Economic Congress 2010 will be held on a different date to allow us to organize an event of such a scale. The Congress is tentatively planned for June 2010. You will be informed about the exact date within one week.

The European Economic Congress 2010 (EEC) is one of the most important business events in Central Europe. The issues to be analysed and discussed this year at the Congress include some of the most significant problems of the global economy, the economic situation in Poland and in Europe, as well as the possibilities of combating and, eventually, overcoming the financial recession. The debate will also cover the climate package, the Polish presidency of the European Union and the importance of innovation in the economy.

Substantive and organisational aspects of the Congress are going to be supervised by the Organizational Committee - Patronage Council, under the honorary chairmanship of Jerzy Buzek, current President of the European Parliament.

Over the three days, EEC 2010 is going to bring together over 3500 visitors from Poland, Europe and the rest of the world.
