Investors recommend PAIiIZ services04.02.2010The Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency plays an important part in guiding investors through investment preparation process, assists in project implementation, provides comprehensive information and acts as an effective and professional investors’ partner. This is the result of the investors' satisfaction survey with services provided by the Agency in 2009 which was carried out by the Gdańsk Institute for Market Economics. In all the rated categories PAIiIZ was assessed better than last year.
It was the Agency's professionalism in providing support that was the best rated PAIiIZ activity. Over half of the entrepreneurs surveyed indicated that the Agency plays an important role as a guide in the implementation of successive stages of investment process. This year’s survey shows a considerable improvement in the assessment of the two aspects. Over 70% of the companies which took part in the survey positively rated the first contact with the Agency. The first impression PAIiIZ makes on investors was one of the most highly rated categories and was on the average rated at 4.7 points out of 5 possible points (4.5 points in 2008).
This year’s average assessment of the Agency as a business partner hovered between 3.7 and 4.1 points. Among the strongest PAIiIZ qualities appreciated by the investors there were meetings with the Agency’s employees (4.5 points), the high quality of preparation and professional skills of the people who contact investors (4.4 points) and the quality of information provided by phone (4.4 points).
Apart from the the lack of consulting services, which 23% of respondents would like PAIiIZ to provide, investors did not indicate any significant problems in the activities provided by PAIiIZ. The weakest points concerned the set of offers available in the PAIiIZ database (3.4 points) and information on investment concessions granted by PAIiIZ (3.9 points). One of the worst rated aspects regarding PAIiIZ activities was the Agency’s role in finding business partners and subcontractors (3.8 points). However, it is worth emphasising that this aspect recorded the highest improvement in rating in comparison with last year - by 0.7 point.
The survey shows that the major source of information and the main way of staying in touch with PAIiIZ was the Agency’s website www.paiz.gov.pl (50% of the surveyed). The rest of the surveyed group mentioned personal contacts and information acquired from Polish and foreign Embassies. 83% of respondents who visited the website recognized that it contains the most useful information geared towards the needs and interests of foreign entrepreneurs. As in 2008, there were no negative opinions regarding the PAIiIZ website’s interface and layout.
The 2009 survey indicates that 100% of the businessmen surveyed would recommend other entrepreneurs to turn for assistance to PAIiIZ (in 2008 it was 88%). This testifies to the fact that investors who were running projects in 2009 in Poland were fully satisfied with the quality of services provided by PAIiIZ.
The report on investors’ satisfaction with PAIiIZ services in 2009 derived data from a suvey conducted between January 1st and November 30th 2009. The report consisted of two modules: a survey of a group of 30 investors (selected at random) and more detailed interviews with seven randomly selected investors. The survey covered the following topics: first contact with PAIiIZ, PAIiIZ as a business partner, co-operation with PAIiIZ project managers and general assessment of PAIiIZ activities and services.
