Płock Industry and Technology Park enters in co-operation with the Ministry of Economy and PAIiIZ

03.02.2010

A conference devoted to the conditions regulating the Park’s co-operation with the Ministry and PAIiIZ took place on February 1st, 2010 at the Plock Industry and Technology Park (PPPT). The aim of the co-operation is to attract investors interested in the Park and in particular companies active in the business services sector (BPO) and shared services.

During the meeting, the Park’ Management Board presented opportunities awaiting investors in Płock which included an investment package, a HR package and a business support package. The set is a part of a project implemented by the Park in the frame of the Regional Operational Programme (ROP) of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship for 2007-2013 in the area of business. PPPT strategy assumes that companies active in BPO and shared services, operating particularly in the field of information technology, logistics and economic and technological counselling, will be located in Płock.

Deputy Minister of Economy, Mr Rafał Baniak recommended the conclusion of an agreement between PPPT and PAIiIZ on joint marketing and promotional activities which would strengthen the processes of acquiring investors by the Park. Mr Baniak added that the formula of the agreement and joint actions undertaken by the Park in co-operation with PAIiIZ will represent first initiative of the kind in the country.

PAIiIZ President, Mr Slawomir Majman emphasised that the natural way of the industrial investors oriented offer’s extension should be the creation of a chemical cluster based on the potential of PKN Orlen, Basell Orlen Polyolefins, PCC Rokita and A. Schulman Poland, all of which are situated in Płock. During the conference also the offer of the Park’ s shareholders i.e. the city of Plock and the Polish Oil Concern Orlen was presented as a compatible and complementary opportunity set for potential investors. The Park's Management Board discussed current state of investment projects carried out in the park, highlighting the role of local and national investors in its development.

The Płock Industry and Technology Park with an area of approximately 130 hectares of land, provides opportunities to invest capital in production- and services-oriented projects of various nature and scale.

Among the companies which have been running or start realising projects in Płock there are: Przedsiębiorstwo Produkcyjno-Usługowe „POLITECHNIK” (plastic and mechanic processing of metals, production of specialist devices), Laser-Met (laser treatment of metals), Henczke-Construction (construction and design), NEO-TEC (modernization and repair of turbine and compressor flow for industry) and, in a specially dedicated zone of the Park, strategic investment - the construction of factory ethoxylates by PCC Rokita. In December 2009, the Park’s Board began negotiations with BUDMAT Bogdan Więcek, a company operating in the field of production of building materials and construction, which has made a demand on an area of about 10 hectares for the investment worth at least PLN 53 million with the intent to create a minimum of 29 jobs. The investment includes the construction of a comprehensive research and production centre as well as co-operation with local, Polish and international research institutions and universities.

Within the Płock Park there operates also the Administration and Conference Centre. The Center's office space is currently used by more than 200 employees working in more than a dozen companies which are park tenants as well as by people who work at the Foundation for Academic Incubators of Entrepreneurship.
